Spring was Here! {now it's gone}

Spring is so here!  Wait, well it was here, at least over the weekend.  But it's gone now.
It was sure nice while it lasted.

Here are some photos to prove it.  Lots of fun and new spring life!

This is one of my peach trees.  The pink buds are positively stunning!

Have a fabulous spring/wintery day, my friends!

Spring-Cleaning with Mother Sue!

Remember my filthy ceiling fans?  And my mother-in-law, Sue, threatening promising to come over and help me spring clean?  Well, she did!  She came over yesterday and wiped away every ounce of dust and grime that the naked eye could see.

BEFORE:

Assessing the situation.
(There are two fans that are way up high!)

How we felt about the situation:

Sue just stood on a chair and praised the Lord.

And then I praised the Lord, too.

But we got those suckers clean.  Yes, we did.

Two hard-working gals.  Aren't we stunning?

And the REAL star!

I keep starring at my dust-free environment and I can't even tell you how happy it makes me!

Now, onto the toilets.  Praise the Lord.

Oh, and if you'd like to schedule your own flattering photo-shoot of you and your mother-in-law, with photographer Lucy, let me know!  She's great at capturing real-life moments.  Photo editing is extra, obviously.

Have a happy Wednesday, my dusty friends!

Distracted by Life!

Well hello, you!  I hope you're all dandy and wonderful.  I'm so sorry that my time here seems to be so sparse.  It's not my intention to be so neglectful, I promise!

I've just been a bit distracted recently.  More so than usual, that is.

Partly because I've been sleeping like a newborn baby.  You know, waking up every couple hours at night, cranky and wanting something to eat...then wanting to nap the day away.

Plus, I've been baking up a storm.

And then there's the children's goings-on.  Especially one in particular that keeps me on the edge of sanity.

So perhaps that's why my mother-in-law insisted on coming over tomorrow to help me spring clean!

That, and this:

My goodness.  Help is what I need, for sure.  And medication, and a nanny, and a personal assistant, and....

In other words, if you aren't busy, swing by my house and we'll make a party of it!

I'll put the coffee on.

Sunday Tidbits

I'll bet you didn't know that we have polar bears in these parts,
that come right up to the kitchen window, huh?

We do.  Here's the proof!
(That's a shameless piece of sausage hanging out of his mouth.)

Not really, it's just Zeke the dog! :)
And he loves to come get some lovin'...and snacks.

And lovin'. Lots of loving!

Elsewhere:
The scooters, bikes, big-wheels, and all other outdoor paraphernalia, have come out of
hibernation and are in full use, once again!  Hooray!

(Nick told me once that when skinny jeans start to make you look
like an ice cream cone, it's time to stop wearing them.  Almost there!)

Spring is here!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

Now, let's hunker down and get set for a productive week, okie dokie?!

signs of spring {hooray!}

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that spring is finally here...
and that our snowstorms are over.
Though I know I will be longing for one, come mid-July.
But we'll worry about later.

And in the last few days, it's been extra sunshiny, which is also a nice respite for us all.
Though I do love a cloudy, rainy day,
too many of those in a row makes me an awful mess.

And I'm not the only one who's enjoying the extra vitamin D...

Isaiah found himself a nice cozy spot and soaked it all up.
He's part kitty-cat.
Have I ever told you that?

And yet another another sign of spring is all the fresh delicious fruit!!

This is a regular dinner side-dish for us around our table.
The kids devour it!
Fresh pineapple, strawberries, and kiwi.

So scrumptious!!

I hope you are enjoying some spring sunshine where you are, too.

Soak it all up, my friends!

first day of spring 2011

Jump in my time-machine with me and let's go back a bit, alrighty?

First day of spring 2010.

First day of spring 2011.

It's about time global warming started living up to its promises.

Nick is taking advantage of the new dunkable
height of our basketball goal.
You da man, Nick.

And Macy-girl attempted some math homework outside.
But it was too sunny.
In my estimation, it's always too sunny for math.
Even when it's cloudy.
I hate math.

Cutie-pie.

Lucy's love of her scooter only grew stronger over the winter.
And so did her cuteness.
Note to self: Have K-man bring a whole suitcase full of
sunglasses, that actually fit little noses, back from China.
We will make a small fortune with the Asian population here in the states.
Happy Spring!!

Outside Fun.....and other things

Yesterday was a most glorious day! No, we didn't receive notice of our LID....double g-rrrr. Tomorrow will be a month since our dossier was sent. I won't lie...I'm frustrated and disappointed but I know it will come. Perhaps today.

Anyway, yesterday was so beautiful outside and Nick had a golf tournament so Lucy and I were free to do as we pleased. I really wanted to sit behind my sewing machine and finally make throw pillows for our bed so I can finally be done with it all (and get some pics for you of our pretty new bedroom).....but with it being so nice outside I thought it would be cruel to make Miss Lucy Bug stay indoors.

Unfortunately, since our boys haven't been little for quite some time we no longer have a swing set...so Lucy (at least for now) is limited to riding her bike and scooter. We are working on getting a swing set (if we ever get paid the huge amount that a certain builder owes us...I hope he is reading this. A little girl's swing set is at stake here Mr. V).

Here are some pics........

Ok, this isn't a pic of us playing outside but it's just so darn cute I had to include it!

YIPPEE, it's Spring!!!

Yes, Lucy is texting...really texting.

Problem is....she can't spell. So if you get a text with the entire alphabet in random order....it's your friend Lucy saying, "Hey what doin?'"

It takes a very secure woman to post a pic this close-up....but Lucy and I take pictures of ourselves all the time and I think it's cute....but I'm not about to do anything bigger than the smallest possible. :)

**********************************

Follow-up from yesterday......Your comments made me laugh. Tracy, I'm so glad you enjoyed B's pics as much as I did!! They truly portray his personality....Holly, he is only 16!! NO 20 year old girls for my baby!! :)

If you haven't already noticed, there is a poll to vote on your favorite name for Shu Li. I recently learned (from some girls who have been adopted from SL's orphanage) that the kids aren't attached to the English names they are given there. SO....though we will still let SL have the option to keep the name Katie (though I really want to make it Kate), we will also give her another option. So vote for the ones you like!!
