50th Birthday {late!}

 Well, goodness sakes.  I just realized that I never posted photos of my sister's 

50th birthday party from last month!

Brenden's 21st!

Please pardon my extreme absence.  I've been extremely busy, distracted, and scatter-brained!  

Extremely so.

But anyway, last night we had a little tiny celebration for Brenden's

21st birthday.

Twenty-first birthday???

How can it be.  I do not know.

Chickens, Birthdays & What-Nots

Hello there, my amigos!  

Let's see, the temps climbed to around 60 over the weekend, now they are plummeting, with

talks of several episodes of snow in the forecast.

Yep, we're in Kansas.

I've got my bathing suit, scarf, gloves, and beach towel all on the ready.

My poor chickens and kitty cats just don't ever know what's coming next.

Although I do have a radio on in my hen house, so assuming my chickens pay attention, perhaps they

listen in on the weather updates.  But I don't know that for sure.

For now, they are all enjoying snow-free outdoor activities.

I was going to talk to you today about how a stay-at-home mom can help contribute

to the family income.

But I have a full day of contributing to my family income!

So I need to get a move-on and that subject is going to have to wait for another day, 

unless I can sneak in some time here later on.

We'll see!

But before I go, I have some cute pictures from Nick's little birthday celebration to share.

Well ya'll, I've got children to feed & educate, muffins and what-nots to be baked,

hair appointments to do, and errands to be run.

All before I start dinner.

(Or maybe we'll just have the muffins and what-nots for dinner!)

My Nicky's 19th!

19 years ago today I was feeling the rumblings of labor!  

K-Man brought me home a Whopper from Burger King for lunch and we waited 

(my doctor had warned me not to eat spaghetti because she couldn't stand to see thrown-up spaghetti.  

She didn't mention anything about a big greasy burger, so that's what I went with.  

And I didn't throw that up either, so it all worked out fine.) 

Finally it was time to go to the hospital, but first we stopped by the store for a new car seat.  

I just loved how much easier and more relaxed having a baby was the second time around!

And my sweet little Nicholas arrived very shortly after getting to the hospital.

What pure joy he has been to us!

And I'm not a bit biased or anything, so I can tell you for sure that he is going to

make one lucky lady a fabulously wonderful husband someday.

He is HILARIOUS and such a gentlemen and the hardest working 19 year old I know.

Happy Birthday, Nick!  

Now excuse me while I go weep!  And search for a newborn to hold and sniff.

Lucy's 8th Birthday!

Yesterday was Lucy's 8th birthday!

She's growing up wayyyy too fast.

I demand that she stop it immediately!

We had a lovely celebration in her honor.

(And guess what?  I didn't have to take the photos!  As you will soon see.)

My Friday and Saturday

So, as part of Lucy and Isaiah's blasted December birthdays,

I decided to treat them to a very special day!

Including, Bass Pro Shop (which they think is pretty much a tropical cruise vacation)

and a movie.  

Their first time EVER to a movie at the theater, in fact!

We saw the movie, Frozen, which left me feeling FROZEN the entire evening.

It was an *okay* movie.

But the kids LOVED IT!!!!

However, as for this mom, who has self-diagnosed adult-onset ADHD, 

I nearly crawled out of my grimy movie seat with boredom.

But, anyway.

Here are a few pics of part of our adventure!

My mom joined us for the Bass Pro part.

But...she's where I get my ADHD from.

So she opted out of the soul-grating movie.

(She loves a good flick, but could totally foresee the problems sitting still for this one.)

They're anything but lovey-dovey.

Sorry this is sideways.

I have not the energy, nor the smarts, to turn it around.

Nor do I care.

All I know is, Lucy refused to pose with the stuffed Grizzly.

But Isaiah got all kinds of accolades for being so brave.

God bless him.

Such valor will take him far in life, I'm pretty sure.

Skip forward to Saturday morning!

K-Man's employer had a fabulous Santa-and-pancakes-and-what-not breakfast,

 to celebrate Christmas.

Or something like that!

Isaiah was all-in on every part of it.

Lucy was on stand-by, if you will.

And there was face-painting.

And Lucy NEVER misses out on a good face painting.

No, not ever.

It's a snow-flake, if you can't tell.

(We clearly didn't get in the line of the seasoned face-painter.)

(Now we know.)

Still, it was fun.

And then,

Isaiah.

AKA, Asian Santa.

Alrighty!

And just like that, Friday and Saturday are done.

Hooray!

Isaiah's Birthday {7 Years Old!}

December birthdays are torture, I'm telling you.

My brain can't contain the ridiculousness of planning & shopping for Christmas gifts,

AND special birthday presents.

For TWO children.

I don't know how, but it always comes together.

Or something like that.

And yesterday was Isaiah's big day!

SEVEN YEARS OLD.

Wowie!
