model 'tude

With all that I've got going on,
and ALL that I SHOULD be doing,
I can't seem to pull myself away from
my sewing machine.

I'm just having so much darn fun making
some things for Lucy.
If you are a seamstress, you really need
to check out this site because they
have some really great patterns that you
buy online, then download.

So, here is one of my latest creations...
(not to mention the model monster that
was created quite some time ago)

Please forgive the hairdo...I didn't take the
time to make it cute.
It was almost bedtime and I didn't see the point.

Interestingly, I finished this outfit about a week ago
and Miss Runway would have NOTHING to do
with it. Then suddenly last night she wanted to try it
on. Then I got my camera out to take A picture but
it turned into 15. I finally had to tell
her that the photo shoot was over, which didn't
go over well.
Then later, it was time to change into PJ's
and the model 'tude continued with a meltdown.
How dare I make her wear PJ's to bed!

********************

Ok, I really, really need to get stuff done today.
I can't wait to tell you about the special suitcase
that I'm packing!

You are a very talented lady, Lori!! I just LOVE that outfit!! I wish I had your skills. :)

My little Cali always struggles with keeping shorts or pants up on her waist. She'll wear one size on top and then a size or two smaller on the bottom (if the length is right).

For summer weather, I tend to put more dresses on her just because of the problem.

Oh my word! That is the cutest little thing I have ever seen....and the outfit is cute too! : ) I second the above comment. I wish I could sew for my children. The outfit you made is darling. If you ever want to make a few to sell, I'd buy! I am enjoying following along as you prepare to add Shu Li to your family. I believe God is working on my heart in regards to these older children. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I absolutely love the You Can Make This site. Living in a rural area like we do (one hour drive to a store) it is awesome to be able to purchase and download from home! I haven't seen that pattern before though. Did you use some old pants that were too short for Lucy or did you make them? I have seen patterns that add something to the bottom of too short pants, and since Sydney has outgrew everything lately, I was thinking of trying something like that.

Oh yeah, I get model tude from Sydney every single time I try to get her to wear anything except her swimsuits! She wants to wear one everywhere! Not! Seriously, the first word out of her mouth every morning is "fimfuit", translated to "Get me my swimsuit now you psycho mom who thought I actually needed to where pjs to bed!" lol

I LOVE it!!!! The fabric you picked is amazing together. Were those easy fit pants not the easiest things you have ever made?

I love the model behavior, LOL! Lucy and Katie are two of a kind. We have to "announce" Miss. Thing several times a day. She goes in her play room behind the french doors and we have to say "From ...... City, Ohio Katie Moore" With the excitement of an announcer before a super star makes an entrance. She will then push open the doors and enter like the star she is. We are also required to clap and cheer. If there is not enough fan fare we do it again. We do this about 10 times a day. When she starts demanding evian in her "dressing room" I will have to draw the line:)

Love the outfit! I have two that love to dress up and give lots of attitude these days:) Last night they were dressed as Tinkerbell and a Princess, had their suitcases packed, and told me they were going camping!

Oh you sound like me, I have been at the machine going like crazy like I know what I am doing.. NOT!!! I just made a cheezy princess dress for Marissa that I originally did not follow the pattern sizes so the bodice did not fit, so I attached the skirt to a ruffly white t-shirt and appliqued for my first time 2 of the princess' from the skirt onto the top. She is thrilled and that is all that counts.

Off to make a tote for my sister's birthday today and a bunch of other to-dos. I think it is the change in weather that makes us want to sew.

Is that site your link good for people like me who are not a seamstress? And do you know if more expensive patterns come with better instructions or a brand that is better?

Guess I should have emailed you this instead of posted, but I know you like those long winded comments!

Oh, I love it!! You are inspiring me to learn to sew! You just don't find cute things like that at WM! And Lucy is the cutest model I have ever seen, hands down.

Beautiful! I envy all of you that sew. I have bought fabric, patterns, cute buttons, etc...but don't have the courage to start the project. Lucy is adorable and clearly enjoys modeling! Got lots of packing to do myself...and the clock is ticking! Can't wait to leave for China. See you there!
