unfortunate cookie

I've never been one to put any stock in fortune cookie messages, for obvious reasons.
But when I got this one not long ago,

I decided it was a direct word from the Lord.

I now had permission from God and my favorite Chinese restaurant not
to sign up for one more thing!
Nothing!
Not one more thing to add to my already too busy life.
This was fantastic news for me.
A breath of fresh air.
No more new plates to add to my spinning circus.

Until... I got an email from my mom last week.
It went a little something like this:

"Hey, I'm in Alabama with Papa and Dot (my grandparents), they are wanting to
get rid of their parakeets and they REALLY want Lucy to have them.  We will just bring
them home with us and run them out to your house on Tuesday."

My response:
"No WAY.  I don't want any animals in my house ever again.  I don't need more mouths
to feed.  I am so done with needy creatures.  I have way too much going on.
No, we do not want them."

Then, I sarcastically mentioned the whole thing to K-Man,
knowing full well he'd laugh and say, you gotta be kidding?!  No way.

But to my surprise, he was like, "Oh wow, Lucy would love that.  Tell your mom to
go ahead and bring them."

What. What?

And just like that, I was back on my email machine telling my mom to
scratch the last message and to go ahead and bring the dang birds to Kansas.

And here they are.
Jack and Jill.

Stupid fortune cookie.

Hence the reason we never put any merit in those dumb cookies. But they are pretty birds...:)

Funny! I'm pretty sure that your mom REALLY wanted Lucy to have the cute little poopers!!
Grand Parents and Great Grandparents? I'm pretty sure you didn't have a chance. Technically, THEY signed you up so really it doesn't count. You put up a worthy fight. Sheri

ACK!!!! So sorry, friend. :) I'm sure your mom will be happy to drive on over every time Lucy needs some help with the birds. :)

Too funny! Yup! You inherited little poopers!
We have had our big pooper (African Grey Parrot)
for17 years. I keep threatening to sell her.
Wait till you see what I got myself into.
One thing for sure it will help me keep my
girlish figure. Ha!
