I'm not even going to tell you about my miserable day.

I have shingles.
There, I said it.
Don't just 78 year old men get shingles?
I'm pretty sure that's true.
So, now I have something in common with old guys.
Anyway, thanks to the pain I'm in and the pain/antiviral medications,
that have caused more misery than they prevent,
I've been pretty useless today.
UNTIL...I rallied this afternoon and I felt SO much better.
So here's what happened after that...

Yes...that would be Nick sliding a Goldfish down a tape-measure
into Brenden's mouth.
And look at my dear husband...acting as if this sort
of thing happens all the time.
Oh wait...it does.
Now another fearless stunt.
Nick having ME put a Goldfish on the end of the tape-measure...

And the ingenious plan was for him to push the button,
allowing the Goldfish to ride the tape as it coiled up, landing
strategically into his mouth.
Ahuh.
It hurt, ever so slightly.
And here's my sweet Macy.
Innocent and antic-free.
Sitting here quiet, as usual, and working on
her latest blog post.
Girls are nice, aren't they?
Back to the boys.And here Brenden is lovingly embracing Lucy-bug.
They really are best buddies.
And will turn on me, quick as a flash.
Literally.
My big girl and me.
Because we're cute.
Well, Macy is.
Remember, I've been sick.

Hope you are feeling better. Shingles can be a mess. Glad I had my shingles shot. And oh yeah, I love the name Drew.

Oh my gosh I thought you were talking about REAL goldfish!!! LOL!!! I was totally freaking out...for the fish!!! WHEW!!
Ouch, that sounds miserable, you poor thing. I hope the meds start working SOON!

Oh friend! Shingles is so painful (not that I know because my GRANDMOTHER had it!) :) Seriously - I'm praying & hope today will be a better, pain free day for you!
Oh nooooo....shingles!!! UGH!! My brother in law got that when he was in his twenties so it's not just for older people. I am so sorry. :( Glad you manage to keep your sense of humor. And does Nick have a fat lip?! :)

But the goldfish thing...awesome.
(cause it wasn't happening in my house, that is!)
OK...so i was really glad to see the box of goldfish crackers...because until I did I thought they were sliding real goldfish into their mouths...Yes, I have two older sons and no that real goldfish would not have been beyond the scope of their imaginations.
The shingles, poor you. They are not just for little old men, believe it or not I had them at ten years old. I remember my doctor walking me around his entire clinic, asking his colleagues, in disbelief, to confirm what he thought he was seeing. Yes they were shingles. I can still remember the discomfort, thirty plus years later. :(

Shingles. Ouch is all I can say. I'm loving your husband not even paying attention to the goldfish antics--hillarious!
I hope your med works better and your system gets used to it. Would the shingles have anything to do with being in China, seems like they were mentioned in with our TB chaos.
I would have to yell at Nick--shame on him for putting his "new" teeth at risk!!
Noooooooo....NOT shingles! Oh my word, I feel terrible for you, friend. It is awful. Anthony got it while we were in China adopting Haven. He felt so awful. I feel your pain and KNOW the agony of it. Know that I am praying for a quick recovery. Rest, rest and more rest.

I too figured your boys eat raw gold fish...somehow my boys didn't figure that one out yet...
My DH just had shingles, lasted 2 weeks but was not horrible....
I didn't get them.....yet

Oh my word...SHINGLES? Nope, not for just old men. My hubby had them at age 40 (now some might think 40 is old, but we know better)!! :) And whoa...yes they hurt. Make sure you take all your meds (though I'm quite sure your doctor told you the same thing). You gotta get better quick before your new little one adds to the hilarious goldfish fun!! HUGS!
