the view from my kitchen window

Yesterday I caught Lucy in a rare moment.

Sitting quietly.
By herself.

Not trying to boss her teen sibs around.
Not trying to mandate the day's activities.
Not seeking to be the center of attention.

But just sitting.

Reading.

By herself.

And I captured it as proof
that she can, in fact,
mind her own business.

The view from my kitchen window
of that glorious moment.

It was short.

It was sweet.

Perhaps it will happen again.

Soon?

*No, she wasn't actually reading...or was she?
I don't know because she was by herself.

I love the view outside your kitchen window! It's beautiful and especially beautiful with a precious little 4 year old holding a book in it!

I'd like to sit down on that bench swing with a cup of coffee and visit with you! We could rock away! Now that would be fun!

Well, that just proves that miracles can happen! :) Maybe she was just sitting there to commemorate earth day...you know, conserving energy for a few moments or something.

LOVE your swing! We had one at our house in MI and I sure do miss it. sniff, sniff...

What a cutie! I bet she was reading a woman's guide to one minute management or something like that!

LOVE your water feature! Did you make it yourself? My favorite thing to do is to swing and read! Lovely picture.
