a lucy story

Ok, I hope you'll forgive me when I tell
you that I'm trying really hard to
stay away from the computer
these days.

Lots and lots to do around here
and my blog addiction simply must take
a back seat!

Ouch.

But I just wanted to let you know that
things are still going well.
We still have a long way to go before
we all feel really comfortable together and
the attachment process is WAY different than
with a little one.
But, with tons of prayer and God's grace,
we are certainly making strides.

Now before I let you go...
I gotta tell you a Lucy story.

Please leave now if you are easily offended.

Lucy loves to "read" anything and everything she sees.
Which translates to her saying each letter.

Yesterday I was wearing a tee-shirt with
"KANSAS" across the chest
and for the millionth time,
she pointed to the letters and said each one perfectly.

She then said,
"Mama, what does that word spell?"

"Kansas," I said.

Then, Lucy (in all her glory) said,
"Oh, I thought it said boobies."

Only Lucy.

Lori, you better be writing these things down, you will never remember them all.

My middle son said things that I wish I had made note of. Family and friends would call and ask for the latest "Zacharyism" and I would have plenty. Now, I can't remember them at all, just the memories of him saying some cute and funny things. It makes me sad. At the time, you think you will NEVER forget them, but you do.

Lucy will get a huge kick out of them someday - you will all love the memories - so get to documenting these precious words, if you aren't already!!

Have a wonderful blessed day!

bahahahahahah...the good thing is that you must actually have some for her to think that. My kids wouldn't have gotten the connection. :)

LOL Thanks for sharing the Lucy-ism. Fantastic!
I would love to hear your insights on bonding with an older child...it is totally different, isn't it? Most of the info we've been given is for babies or toddlers. I mean, you can't wear a teenager in a sling all day or give them a bottle! I know God is at work in your sweet family!
Blessings,

That is so funny!
One day when I was looking for some
new undies in Kohl's Jaden yells,
"Hey mom do you think this fits?" I turned
around and she was proudly wearing the
largest bra I had ever seen.
The one time I left the camera home!

Very funny....It would be hard telling what Lucy & Jami could come up with together!! Jami is at that stage as well.
And Lindsi?...Well she is very interested in when everyone is having their babies (we know 2 pregnant moms) & she is NOT shy about asking ANYBODY when their babies are due.

Glad you did find the time to blog. I agree with the comment to not stay away too much! I have a blog addiction, too! It's great someone else does.

Very cute comment from Lucy. Philip says a lot of zingers, and I should write them down. You would have thought I would have learned with our older son to do that!!

In Christ,
Janet, Kevin, Ted, Philip, and waiting for Eli (with both cars in the shop!!) Your comment on our blog brought a smile to me face. Thanks.

That is a great idea-- since my chest is so un-noticeable all by itself, I may NEED a short that advertises where they actually reside. lol
