when a man loves a woman...

I've really been wanting a new sofa & love seat
for our living room.

But there is no way I could see that in
the near (or even distant) future with our
budget as it is.

No big deal, I'm very thankful for what I have.

Then it just suddenly occurred to me
yesterday morning....

the leather furniture in the basement!

DUH.

About 7 years ago we bought furniture
for our basement family room.

We have used it a lot, but mostly
it's just used by the boys and their friends.

So I sent K-man a text yesterday telling him
that I was thinking about swapping
the furniture around.

He said....fine.

Little did he know that when he got home,
I asked about it...

and being the good hubby that he is,
he got right on it.

It was a huge undertaking.
HUGE.

The ONLY way to get it up was up the stairs.
Our very narrow stairs.

It was like delivering a baby...
backwards.

Looks good at this point....
looks can be deceiving.

K-man not only had to take the light
fixture off the wall,
but also the electrical box that was
just barely sticking out.

Don't let the tag fool you...
it's not brand new...I just never
cut it off!
Brilliant.

Brenden...it's time to put that geometry
to use.

After MUCH time and configuration...
we they got it!
Now I have a "new" living room
and scuffed up walls!
It's lovely.
Even if it wasn't....it's here to stay.
I'd have to take it back down
myself if I didn't like it!

Oh, and if you've been hanging around
my blog for very long,
don't you just KNOW that Lucy
Little Miss Bossy Buns
was in full charge
of the situation!

I think a whole bunch (3) men love this woman!

I have a few scuffed walls also from my brilliant ideas. I did happen to mention to hubby and his crew that I wanted the furniture at that certain place but not necessarily at the expense of my walls... oh yeah, I got "the look", no words, no witty comments, just "the look".

Thank goodness for our big strong furniture movin men!

oh my word! that looked like it was quite a challenge! (why do basement stairs always seem to have a corner angle landing thing? our does and it's a pain to get big items in and out.... i wish they went straight down into the body of the basement.

Bet it is going to look great. I'm sure the boys loved taking orders from the little boss. My g'daughter always declares, "I AM NOT BOSSY?" Yeah, right.

Pictures??? I am decorating challenged, but I get so excited when I come up with a great idea that doesn't cost much and gives the room a room new feel.

Woman! what's wrong with rearranging? not moving the whole house around.
Definitely owe those guys cinnamon rolls :^)

Moving all that furniture was a small price to pay for the delicious bread you've made them lately. I am going to try out the bread recipe soon.

Thats a great idea. I have heard of other families, who because of the economy crunch and, cant afford new furniture they have switched furniture with their neighbors or friends. Pretty cool!
Im with Sally on that one, Id like to see after pics.

Little Miss Bossy Buns...I LOVE IT!! That just cracked me up! :) My oldest daughter is SO bossy. I found a button one time that said, "I'm not bossy--I just have better ideas." I bought it for her. :)

Your hubby is a sweetie--just like mine. He has done some similar things for me. Where would we be without our guys?! :)

Wow! That looked like that was a real job! My husband is really good at figuring out how to get large furniture through small spaces too. He will just sit and look at the whole situation for a very long time and then voila! He figures it out! I am so glad that he is persistent like that cause he loves me. It looks like your husband does too! You should feel very loved!
