homeless hair

No kidding.
K-Man literally came in the house tonight and uttered something
about my "homeless hair."

Whatever did he mean??

I have no idea.

crazy hair design {help needed}

There are good things and bad things when it comes to having a big family.

One of the few bad things is,
bathrooms fill up quickly, often leaving little people needing to be resourceful.
For example, a certain man-child might or might not have to utilize
the great outdoors.
(We are country folk, remember that.)
And, comb his hair after shower time in the entry-way of the house.

As you can tell, he's all upset about this.

But that's okay.
Because it gives him great inspiration for creative hair design.

Good heavens.

Crazy children.

Doing crazy things.

To a crazy lady's hair.

Beauty has been redefined.

Here's a few things I've learned from this series of photos:

1.  Roots.  Retouch them immediately.

2.  Get going on Dave Ramsey's financial planning to save for Botox.

3.  Never let a camera this near to me ever again.  Ever.

And in all hopes of not having those images burned into your retinas,
here is a cute kitten video.

messy {or formal!} bun

If you or your daughter(s) have long hair,
a really fun and easy style is just minutes away!
And how especially wonderful on a hot summer day.
(The heat is coming! Blah.)

Take a look at this super quick video to show you exactly how to do it!
(Be sure to watch to the end for a sweepstakes entry.)

So easy, right?!

And if you want to kick it up a notch,
just back-comb the crown area and take your time strategically pinning
the loops for a very formal look.
Perfect for a prom or wedding up-do!

(This is Sarah's prom do)

Practice, practice, practice!
You can do it!

(And I'll give you a professional hint, sometimes it's easier to work
with hair that's a little dirty rather than freshly washed.)

sassy classy pony tail

As I mentioned a while back,
I am growing my hair out, against my better judgement.
But as summer is approaching,
I thought perhaps having it longer would prove to be easier,
what with the option of a pony-tail & all.

And since Lucy has extraordinary hair,
I threw her's up in a messy little pony tail today, just for fun.

Watch this video for a close-up tutorial!
I especially love the tip of wrapping the plastic band with hair.
So classy!
(Be sure to watch the video to the end to get in on a sweet sweepstakes)

Happy pony-tail making, ya'll!
The warm weather is almost here and we need to
get our stylish alternative hair styles ready!

completely paranoid now

Still not sure what I'm going to do with my hair.

But for those of you who staunchly said,
"For the love of God and country, COLOR IT!"
(Or something along those lines),
I'm not gonna lie, you annoyed me.

I am certain I could rock me some silvery hair.

I'm not talkin 'bout
crazy-old-lady-brillo-pad-life-is-hard-and-dang-it-I-am-bitter,
kind of hair.

I'm talking,
cute and stylish, chic and finely tuned.

But never mind.

You've made me completely paranoid now.

No, really...it's too late.

But thank you to those of you who did catch my vision.
You had my back, and I appreciate it.
I will be inviting you to a private party where we'll
talk bad about the others.

Just kidding!

But,
in honor of Beth Moore,
I might throw some flashy blond highlights in.

Because....

I am going to see BETH MOORE this weekend!!

Can. Not. Wait.

confusion!

First things first.

We had our one-year post-placement visit tonight.

I can't tell you how desperately I wanted to bail on the whole
dang thing and save ourselves 500 bucks.

But I knew we needed to do the right thing.
To do what we agreed to do.

And I positively adore our social worker.
She was MOST grateful that we followed through.

She knows the whole sha-bang story of what's been going
on with our older kiddos' adoptions.
And she is so supportive and sympathetic and wonderful and on our side.

And wonderful.

She's wonderful.

She is THE best social worker in the world.
I wish I could share her with you.

And I am SO sad that we are at the end of our
adoption-related relationship.
Because we will NOT be adopting again.
We will not.

It didn't really hit me until she left our house
(even though she SAID it as I walked her out to her car),
that she wouldn't be coming back to our house anymore.

Wahhhh!

You are the BEST, Heather W.!!

And just between us friends,
I desperately want to fix her up with my brother-in-law.

Wait.
Who said that?

Never mind.
(For now)

In other news:

You guys have me totally confused regarding my hair affair.

Dang it all!

It seems that you are 50/50 on your opinions.

Fickle people!

So I am left to make a decision on my own.

I will let you know what I decide.

Oh, how I will let you know.

With pics.

I need your opinion

I am in a huge hurry right now but
I simply must take a few minutes to chat with you all real quick.

Something really big is weighing on my mind.

A decision I've been struggling with.

A quandary.

A dilemma.

A life-changing turn that I am considering.

I inquired about it with a couple of my close friends
last night, via text.

I trust their opinions and wisdom.
Though I'm not sure why.

And they SHARPLY disagreed with what I'm leaning towards.
They both graciously told
me that I was crazy for even considering such a thing.

Yet, my real life friend Teresa was all for it.

I'm all confused.

So let me ask YOU.

Should I or should I not...

let my gray hair grow out??

Ack!

Just seeing that all typed out makes my armpits sweat.

Let me just remind you of a couple of things
before you answer.

1. I have a 5-year old.

2. I have a 6-year old.

3. I am 75% gray (on the top)

4. I don't want to look older, tireder, and more worn
out than I feel.
Which is a lot, so I've got some room there.

4. I am also considering highlights & letting it all
just blend together.

5. I am also considering leaving it as is.

6. I am also considering a decorative bucket.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!
