Congrats to our Grad!

Hello, sweetie-pie friends!

In the midst of our regularly scheduled busyness,
we have a couple graduates to celebrate!

The other night Eli had his 8th grade promotion.
He has worked SO DANG hard since coming to America three years ago, with ZERO English!
Our school district has bent over backwards to help him and we are so grateful.
All the efforts have paid off, that's for sure!

Our new high schooler!

(Sorry to interrupt, but my mom and I had to do a selfie.)

Eli got his very first cell phone!

Cute girls waiting for graduation to start.

Eli receiving his certificate!

Good times!

(Macy's graduation celebration will be here soon.)

gradulation party!

Yesterday we celebrated Nick's high school graduation!

We did a little target practice.

Even I shot once.
Sad, isn't it?

Then the party really began...

As you can see, Nick made sure to put on his nicest outfit.

We all sat around the roaring campfire.
Until it swallowed us up and we all disappeared.

Nick and Sarah.
They didn't plan to wear matching shirts.
So they say.
Around these parts we call that, rednecks in love.

I have no idea why I was contorted into this way.
But, you know.  I dance to my own drummer.

My deepest apologies for that one.
We got him raised, but clearly not right.

Anyway, it was super fun!

Happy Gradulation, Nick!
(That's how Isaiah pronounces it. :)

congratulations, brenden

Brenden's first day of kindergarten...I remember that day so vividly...partly because it was a huge
milestone in my little man's life...and partly
because he told me I could drop him off at the curb and
be on my way.
Nice.
Well, I did walk him in and I recall that across the entrance
of his kindergarten door was a banner that said,

"Class of 2011"

Well, that's so cute...how they are thinking
so far into the future.
As if that date will ever, ever get here.

Well, it got here.

Dang it, it got here.

How in the world can a Mama feel so extremely
happy and sad at the very same time?

And when will these spontaneous bursts of tears
quit happening?

Congratulations, Brenden!!
We are so proud of you!!
