cowboy, hedgehog, and a scrappy hen

Goodness, the weather here is positively marvelous, wonderful, and much-preferred by your's truly.
I'd like to order 365 days of this, please.
Thank you.

And we are spending sooooo much time outside.
THAT makes everyone happy.
In every way.
Especially ME, because my house is staying semi-clean.
(Emphasis on the semi.)

Anyway, here's a quick pictorial of our Thursday night:

Bike-riding is the activity of choice these days.

Our resident Chinese cowboy.
(Please note the ONE cowboy boot.)
(I have no idea what that's about.)

Scrappy hen on our much-needed-to-be-painted back porch stairs.

Cowboy, in full uniform!

Zeke, in a very serious pose.

Sarah arrived with an ice-cream bucket.
Sans any ice-cream inside.

It was a hedgehog.
Honestly, I think it's the freakiest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

Zeke thought so, too.

Gasp.  I am really creeped out by this thing.  REALLY.

Moving on to more pleasant creatures.
A lovely hen in front of her red house.
Much better.

Isaiah finally lassoed me.

And did what's soooo politically incorrect.
He pulled a plastic gun on me.
Oh, the travesty!

I happen to think it's perfectly fine for boys to be BOYS.

And that was my Thursday night.
All of that happened in the course of about one hour.

And the fun continues!

ok, so, I know this is a weird question, but do hedgehogs stink? Also, do you think they could be a 4H project? :) Pretty sure they don't tricks but wouldn't keeping one alive count?

I love "boys being boys, too." We usually have an arsenal on our front porch as the neighbor boys join us, too. We feel quite safe!

I love your little Chinese Cowboy! He's so stinking cute, even with one cowboy boot!

Aren't you afraid a critter is going to get the hens when they are out? I guess Zeke ignores them!

My nephew had a hedgehog it was really cute, Sarah's is much bigger!

We are having temps in the high 80's and low 90's and I'd trade it in a heartbeat for something in the high 70's, especially if the humidity was low!

Have a wonderful weekend!

That is one cute cowboy! Where did the hedgehog come from? The pet store? the wild? I have never seen one in the wild. That sarah is a cutie too:) And no Vicky I didn't get inspiration from Lori to make Quiche.......she makes me want to roll back over and go to sleep cause there is NO way I could begin to keep up with her;) But she makes me laugh so I keep reading her blog:)
