friday video

Ok, so did you notice K-man mowing in the background...and glancing over
at me doing my video and resuming his work as if everything
was going on as usual?
I guess that's because he's used to me being weirdly dorky.
And me making videos in the yard apparently doesn't phase him in the least.
He's a very good husband that way.
I love that man.

Anyway,
let me know your book recommendations!
I mentioned wanting something fiction, but tell me about anything good you've read lately.

Have a blessed weekend!

Love the video. I just finished reading Beach Road by James Patterson. It was awesome. It had a twist to it which made it even better.

Just finished The Hunger Games trilogy, and I loved those books, but they were not light and fluffy if that's what you're looking for! After those I had to have a stress free book, so I read some totally mindless piece of fluff - Always the Baker, Never the Bride. Cute book, and I think it was free on my kindle. Now I'm reading Unplanned, which is not fiction, and it is amazing. 3 suggestions in one post. Ha! :) This from a teacher who is on Spring Break and reading everything in sight!

The best ever....
Seasons Under Heaven
By Beverly Lahaye

It is a series but you will fly right through them. I have never ever cried over a book until I read these. I never wanted them to end. I do realize this sounds crazy and the dear lady that gave me the first one said "get your tissue for this one." I laughed it off and then as we were on our way to Florida for vacation I had to literally sit the book down because I was crying so hard! It is the craziest thing! My husband was laughing at me. So if you need a good cry these are some really great fiction books. What are they about? Several families that all live on a little culdasak together. You will find your self all wrapped up in their lives and you will not be able to put them down:)

Books I love:

1. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
One of 2 works of fiction on the Marine Corps reading list, but appeals to teens, women, men, and has about 4 sequels that are also great. Ender's Shadow is maybe even better than Ender's Game.

2. The Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters
I started with The Last Camel Died at Noon, which isn't the first book in the series, but was great. Nice and clean- set in the late 1800's with a husband and wife archaeologist in Egypt with a most interesting child. Also a nice moment of adoption in this particular book...

Happy reading!

Anything by Karen Kingsbury! LOVE everyone of her books. Fiction but with lots of faith lessons intertwined.
Have a great weekend!

I just read HUNGER GAMES, then saw the movie. Futuristic fiction, kind of dark, but I couldn't put it down (I don't usually like those kind of books but I loved this). I'm going to read the other two in the series next.

If you haven't read SECRET LIFE OF BEES, that is excellent too. Also WATER FOR ELEPHANTS.

A couple of nonfiction books- UNBROKEN by Laura Hillenbrand. I'm also about to read Anne LaMott's new book- SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. I love any of her nonfiction, not so much her fiction.

Happy reading!

I'm going to have to agree with those that read The Hunger Games trilogy. I'm halfway through the last book. If you like page turners, these are the books for you!

I like Elizabeth Peters' books too.
I'm reading a good book "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" that a very nice lady sent to me...it is very good. I have trouble finding reading time these days.

I don't get it... people in this world actually read books?

Okay... JK. I love books! I order many of them and they sit and sit and sit...

I'm a slow reader with no time... bad combo...

Just gotta tell you that you are such a cute little kansas girl!

Let me know which one you decide on!

I'll have to buy it... but of course not read it!

I'm good for the economy!

Great question, since I am on the hunt for something new to read, too! I also recently read the Hunger Games series and agree they are very good. Let us know what you picked! I am going to check out some of these suggestions!

I really loved The Help. The book and the movie. Powerful message. Easy read. I hardly ever read fiction, but this one's on my favorites list.

I am a little late joining you for your Friday post but since my hubby brought home a NOOK for me, I have been reading tons! I actually started a what to read post this weekend but never finished it to post it.

I have read a ton of fiction lately, not my usual but I need things that move along and I love history so here is my list....

I have read all the Julie Klassen Books- fiction, set in 1800's England mainly, Christian influenced. The Silent Governess, The Girl in the Gatehouse, Lady of Milkweed Manor to name of few.

I have never read a Karen Kingsbury book but recently read Oceans Apart. I actually thought it was really good, gave me a lot to think about.

Non-fiction- I have read Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis and I am currently reading Redefining Home: Squatty Potties, Split Pants and Other things that Divide my World by Carrie Ann Hudson.

And non-fiction biography- I Will Plant You a Lilac Tree by Laura Hillman. A story of her survival in concentration camps during WWII. Good, quick read but humbling and at time graphic just in describing the conditions.

Hope your weekend was awesome! Our weather was beautiful too... almost hot!

Getting into the conversation a little late. I love anything by Beverly Lewis. I can't put down Jodi Picoult. Both fictional but good reads.
