Thank you all SO MUCH for your extremely
sweet comments on
Macy's blog.
She checks it OFTEN to see new comments so please,
keep up the good work!
Now, it's time for my therapy session.
Indulge me, would you?
And I promise, I'm not going to whine.
I'm so over that.
Yeah, sure.
Our agency hasn't received any TAs this week (or last week)...
so they are due for some.
In my estimation.
And I do know what I'm talking about.
Actually, not really.
Most packages come on Mondays and Fridays.
So...perhaps tomorrow!
But we're scrambling like crazy around here trying to prepare.
And that ain't easy when you have no idea
whether to run or sprint.
(My husband's words)
I think it will be slightly easier since he is the only one traveling.
Hopefully getting a last-minute flight will be do-able.
My biggest angst, as you know, is Brenden's graduation.
There is NO WAY K-man is going to miss it.
No way.
If it's cutting it close, he will wait until afterwards.
Hard as that is,
he needs to be here to celebrate Brenden's big milestone.
That is not an option.
It's too important.
So now, will you join me in praying for TA tomorrow?
Or what if we were surprised with it today!?
I have goose-bumps just thinking of it!
Alright now, I gotta go.
But first, I'd like to know from you all,
especially those who have traveled to China more than once...
and have taken different routes/flights,
what's your preferred
airline and flight?
Our last two flights were on United out of Chicago.
Great airline and route but ugh...they
don't have those really cool TVs in the backs of the seats!
Anyway, tell me your experiences, good and bad...okay?!

love following your journey...we flew Continental in '08 when we brought our daughter home. it has the really cool TV's in the back of the seats. lol! we liked them, but then again, I don't have anything else to compare it with...haven't traveled yet for our little guy waiting in Sichuan. And I agree with you - graduations are not "do-over" material, it is so important to be there and celebrate that HUGE accomplishment with your son! :) Praying your TA comes SOOON!
Praying hard for your TA. Did you get my email about the items I have or is it bouncing around somewhere?
As for routes, I'm not a lot of help except that I like as few plane changes as possible (maybe because I have always made this trip with many small children (first time a 6 month old, 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old) and last time with a 2,3,4&5 year old! The TVs in the back of the seats would be really nice!
Praying for you friend that it all comes quick!
Praying for your TA's. We flew with Korean Air in late 2009, they have in seat screens and lots more leg room then NW Airlines, they were great!
I don't know anything about China routes but we often fly on cheaper long-haul transatlantic flights that don't have the screens. We load up a netbook with literally dozens of movies and tv shows and that usually works to keep people occupied for a good few hours. Just make sure you get a netbook with the longest possible battery life (ours is rated for 11 hours, and we recharge it anyway during our layover in Europe).
Adding my hopes that that TA shows up TODAY! (or at least tomorrow)
PS My captcha word is "flair" - that's got to be a sign of something good, or at least fun, right ;)?

My photography is available for purchase - visit Around the Island Photography and bring home something beautiful today!
Been 4x, so many flights that I can't even remember who has the screens/who doesn't. Just give that man a bottle of niquil, he'll need the sleep=)
Praying for your ta!!!
Praying for your TA ASAP, and for all those dates to work out perfectly!
All the best,
Nicole A., now in LA
We just flew Continental out of Newark in January and it was very nice. However we had to fly China Air from Beijing to San Francisco to get back home due to a canceled flight and that was horrendous!
Hope you'll be making flight plans tomorrow!
Korean Air from ATL into Seoul. Seoul directly in GZ. Amazing. Absolutely amazing and definitely had those great TV's in each seat....I was not about to get on a plane with 6 boys without them! The staff was amazing, it was like a Beauty and the Beast routine as they approached the gate. Not a hair out of place, a lovely smile on their face, truly cannot say enough good things. I am so, sooo excited for you!
I always wondered if you have an option on how long you stay in China? Do you HAVE to see the Great Wall, the zoo etc. if you've seen it all before? Won't they let you zip on over there, get your kiddos, get the consulate appt. over with & come home within a few days? (Obviously I know that isn't possible or everyone would do it but that doesn't seem right if you've been there, done that.)
Praying!
I also was wondering like anonymous
why when the consulate appt is over, you couldn't leave that late afternoon or evening for Hong Kong.
Then leave the next day for home. Seems like it would give you a few extra precious hours before the graduation. I've read many trip blogs and most don't leave for Hong Kong or Beijing until the day after
the consulate appt.Always wondered
about that?..congratulations to
Brenden on his graduation. mm,vancouver, wa.
We flew China Southern out of Los Angelos straight through to GZ in 1998 and 2000. They had the tv's then so I guess they still do.
Hey there friend! Praying you that if you haven't already received your TA today, then tomorrows the day!!! As far as Airlines...we flew Continental out of Newark both in 2006 and 2009. They have the TV's in the back of the seats, the flight attendants were "as nice as they can be", if you know what I mean? The flight usually leaves Newark around 1:00 pm and arrives around 2:30 in China. Hope you get to make those arrangements ASAP!
I really hope that your TA comes tomorrow so you can make all of your plans and be able to relax about it. I understand your angst! :-) We are waiting for our Article 5 right now and with the potential government shutdown we are having some angst of our own as well. LOL! We flew Continental in the past and one flight had the cool tvs the other had tvs in the back of each seat but with limited choices of what to choose to view. Good to know about United as we plan our trip as well. Will say a prayer for your TA for you!
Praying for TA and I LOVE Cathay Pacific and will only fly them to CHina from now on!!! Did it for the last two trips, but they may be more west coast based.
I vote for Continental out of Newark...they have connections w/ Chicago or where ever your closest hub. Newark is supposedly a less expensive airport (?)
Praying for your TA! :) Only flew NW and United. Neither is great--but got the job done.
Praying for your TA!! Just a year ago we flew on Delta from home to San Franciso and then took Cathay Pacific to China. They had the tv's and it's was a good flight considering that we took four kids with us.
Praying for your TA!!
We flew United both times also.
Checking into other airlines this
time.
United Business Class was awesome!
Praying that you'll get your TA very soon!!!
Have a blessed Friday!
YOu will hear good news soon!
Hope you get TA today... or Monday!!!!
We adopted from Hong Kong, and used Golden Rule Travel agency and they booked us a Delta flight - it was wonderful... :)
