where babies come from

For the two of you who asked about Zeke,
he's got it pretty darn sweet
here on the 'stead.

He and Lucy are still buddies,
although one of them is growing at a much more rapid
rate than the other.

Sorry, that's as still as I could get Zeke to stay for a pic.
I'll try to get a better one later.

*~*~*~*~*~*

Ok so for those you who are blessed (like me) to have
both teens and tots,
you will understand what's been happening as of late
in our house.

Mercy. Be.

So, besides the big boys telling Lucy things such as,

"You're not from China, Lucy...you're from Africa!"
and
"Lucy, go tell mommy that she's annoying you."

Tonight at the dinner table they were telling her where babies
come from.

That's right.

They had "the talk" with her about babies coming
from....

the clothes dryer.

Huh?

"You see, Lucy,"
Nick said in all seriousness,
"when a mommy and daddy want to have a baby,
they put baby clothes in the washing machine.
When the clothes are done washing,
they put them in the dryer
and when the dryer stops, they open it up
and out comes their baby, all dressed and everything."

If labor/adoption were only that easy.

Now I'm dreading more than ever having the real
talk
with her someday.

*Sigh*

And that is just a small sample of what goes on in my house.

Your sympathy is appreciated.
Thank you.

bahahahahahaha! That is hysterical! I also love when the teens teach the little kids words that don't sound so great coming from the mouth of a two year old. Not profanity or anything, but maybe a bit crude. sigh....

So, so funny. Your kids crack me up. Wait until Lucy starts spreading the word about where babies come from.

naughty, naughty. My big kids haven't taught Josiah anything WRONG...but he has picked up some less than desirable vocabulary and mannerisms from them.
Ahem!
You have my sympathy!

Ahhhh yes - it is coming back to me now - memories of what my older kids told my younger ones. I had one afraid of martians, one afraid of the moon - stories told that scared the daylights out of the younger kids. Ahhhh, the memories - thanks for the memories that your post brought back to me.

That is hilarious! I had to dive out of the way before I spewed water all over the computer. As a younger sibling, I will say that Lucy will have plenty of blog stories to share someday!

You have my sympathies.

Only because I know EXACTLY what you are experiencing.

And, I have to say...I LOVE IT. LOL.

But still you have my sympathies.

After I stop laughing.

So funny! It takes me back when I was a kid with two big brothers 8 and 10 y older than me. Now, its in my home with a teen age daughter and my chinese firecracker! You have my sympathy...but now in my mid-40 I wouldn't trade my big brothers for anything, they have my back, I have their love. You have great kids, don't worry Lucy will cherish this relationship for a long time. Priceless.

That's way too funny!! Imagine how boring life would be for the big boys if they didn't have a 4 year old to keep them entertained! That's what I tell Isaac! He does the same kind of stuff! (Their older brother Joseph is still in the crawl space at the old house...umm yea! )

That is so funny Lori! I laughed so hard one of my kids came to see what was going on. I think they believe I secretly have fun without them. LOL!

As I prepare my sweet Leanne for middle school I think it is time to have "the talk". Do you think she will buy Nick's version of where babies come from? So far our house thinks when a mommy and daddy want a baby they call the caseworker and she bring you one. If only it were that easy...

I REMEMBER when I was there and they told her to tell you that you were annoying her. haha

I LOVE THAT!!! hee, hee. I remember after telling my youngest daughter about the facts of life. She looked at me with the most serious, yet disturbed face and said "Well, I will tell you right now that ALL of your grandchildren from me will be adopted!" LOL
Kids are soooo funny.

Just wait Nick...paybacks are fun! Lucy will be old enough to talk to his kids!
I told Hope about c-sections after a brief overview of the "normal" method of delivery...she hid under the covers and said she doesn't think she will have kids.

I think it's NICK who needs "the talk" - sounds like he wasn't listening the day of the real talk. Did he by chance have his ears plugged saying "na na na na na" I'm not listening!!!!"?
