six months and counting....

Wow, six months have flown by...fast.
But not without some frustration, irritation, heartache...
and a whole lot of JOY.

Sometimes when I get caught up in seeing things on a daily
basis, I get discouraged.
But when I look back over the last six months,
I just think, WOW, we have come a LONG, LONG way.
Progress has come at a snail's pace at times
but very recently, it seems that we've turned a big corner.
Macy really seems at ease, finally.

I could go on and on.
But let's let pictures do the talking....

Yes I know I cut half her head off but I still think it's an adorable pic!

Can you believe...
this was six short months ago?
She was darling then and she is darling now.

Yes, darling at both times in her life, but now...wow! Look at the shine in her eyes, and the look of pure ease and joy. So much more than the tentative smile 6 months ago. And she looks so happy about those contacts...yeah, Macy!!

Oh, such a sweet post. Those pictures tell the story. She is so amazingly beautiful! She was six months ago, too, but without the love of her forever family. That love has gone straight to her very soul. :)

Much love,
Janet and gang

The smile on her face exudes
confidence - AMAZING! I know it has been slow, but it is for sure!! Don't you just want to pinch yourself for being so incredibly blessed?

Yes, the pictures do speak for themselves...you can see the ease in her eyes...more comfortable.

Macy had a beautiful smile 6 months ago, but WOW, her smile lights up her face now. So glad she is feeling more at ease.

Aw man, time passes so quickly. I remember when you adopted her. And when I came up for thanksgiving, she was so quiet (I'm sure she still is, but maybe not as silent). She seems very happy. :)

How fantastic! We are looking at the file of an almost 13 year old from Shanghai. However, we are in the process of adopting daughter #5 from China right now through another agency. Would love to email with you about adopting an "older" child. (BTW, our newest daughter will probably be 6 by the time we go get her.)

Thanks,
Christie

It seems like the transition from glasses to contacts was a HUGE thing for Macy. I know my 13 yr old just did that in January and it was so cool to see how it boosted her self-esteem.

So happy for your entire family...God bless!

She really does look happy and at peace. And so beautiful! Thirteen is a hard age for anyone. I remember sitting in my living room listening to love songs and crying about pretty much nothing. lol. : ) When I go back and read my journal from that time in my life I wonder what in the world was going on in my head! It must be magnified in a child in a huge transition. But she landed herself in probably the best family she could have, and she is surrounded by love and prayers. Happy 6 months to Macy!! We are all rooting for her and praying for her!

Sometimes it is not something we do it is just time- time at home, time in a new country and time being surrounded by a new language- it just all works out!

We have noticed improvements with Sarah too- it just keeps getting better!!

Congrats and happy anniversary!
