peeled onion

Well,
there's a lot that I would do for you,
my lovely bloggy friends,
but post a pic of my new haircut
is not one of them.
At least not now.

Sigh.

It turns out that my hair just looks
better with my
whimsical willy-nilly self-inflicted haircuts
and not that of someone else's.

Yes,
I did indeed enjoy the good head scrubbin'
and even though the stylist
chatted a bit more than I cared to hear,
at least she was sweet and personable.

But sadly she really didn't quite understand
*apparently*
what I wanted because I vividly remember
NOT mentioning peeled onion.

I left feeling so sad.

That's crazy, I know.
People who get caught up in high emotions
over their hair,
just drive me crazy but I'm here to admit
to you that I cried, yes cried, when I got to my car
and took a glance in the rear-view mirror.

I got home and the first thing Lucy said was,
"I don't like your new haircut."

Sweet, isn't she?

Then later she said,
"Your haircut is da-dorable."
but was quickly
followed by,
"Your new haircut isn't cute."

A woman of lower standards would have told
her to shut up.

But I refrained, of course.

Anyway, I immediately headed to MY shop
and washed my hair
and styled it.

MUCH better, but still....it's not very flattering.

Oh well,
it's only hair.

The experience will build character and compassion, I'm sure.

Hee.

Ok. I'm coming out of lurking because of this post. I'm sorry it didn't live up to your expectations. I hate BAD haircuts. I had high hopes today would be a super special day for you. Hugs!!

OH NO!! So sorry. Peeled Onion?? I hope it will give you comfort to know that I have been there, as I'm sure most of us have...those who are not blessed enough to know how to cut our own hair, and are therefore ALWAYS at the mercy of well meaning stylists. :( Oh my, one time my hair cut and perm resembled...Shirley Temple with smaller curls? Oh it was terrible! But...it grew back. And yours will too. :)

I'm sorry to hear that your salon experience wasn't all that you had hoped for. I've been there, done that and have sported the bad haircuts too. Thankfully you're a gifted stylist who can make the necessary repairs.

Love you!

Oh no! Bad haircuts are the worst! Several times I've went in for "just a trim" and left with several inches gone. Or back when curled back bangs were in & they'd cut it so short it was a spike. ugh. I'm sure you look beautiful as always!

So sorry to hear about the hair mishap. Not fun. Yes, it's only hair, but it's always nice to leave feeling like it was worth the time and money. I remember changing my hair color once. When I got home, Jacob (only 5) told me that I didn't look like his mom. Sob!

Ohhhh, I am so sorry! I've met you and I know you are as cute as can be-and the styl of your hair doesn't matter! (Did you stuff a sock in sweet Lucy's mouth?)

Truthfully- you know you and you probably are the best person to do your hair! I would be thrilled if I had a do like yours!! Plus- hair grows!! Don't worry!

Next time go for a pedicure!!

Bless you sweet friend- cheer up!

Oh no! I'm so sorry you don't like your hair. I was so excited for you today. You are so cute though, I sure you will be able to fix it up. Just give it a few days. I'm sorry you are sad, friend.

So sorry:( I HATE to get my haircut and mu hubby always hates it when I am leaving for a haircut because he says I'll come home crying, many times I have. One time, I got the peeled onion haircut. The lady was going off on her husband- I don't even know these people and the madder she got at him, the shorter my hair got... it was so bad! But it grew thankfully:)

Hang in there and glad you had a place at home to go work on it, I never know what to do when I come home with a bad hair cut.

Blessings friend,
Gayly

No compassion from this girl...until I see it!

Hehe...kidding...I hate bad haircuts. I can't imagine that being a hairdresser yourself.

Here's to vitamins making it grow!

UGH- feeling your pain. I cut my own most of the time too, and I had no training=0. A couple of times a year I will venture out. Thought I had found someone, planned a cut based on travel dates, she did not cut it the same. I always end up chopping on it when I get home.
My son, who just went off to college, will soon have to get his 1st ever real haircut! Janet

Oh noooooo....I am so sorry!!! I was hoping today would be fun and relaxing. Yes, hair does grow but it takes awhile and there is all that yucky in between time. I have confidence that you can make it look better but I hate that it made you cry. BTDT. Wish I was there to take you out for a good sob into our Starbucks.

PS: Send me a pic!

OK we have all been there and we truly feel for you. I am so disappointed because I was so excited for you. It seemed like such a nice treat for someoone who obviously deserved it but seriously you know we all really have to see a picture. Hoping it grows quickly!

Oh I am sorry you don't like it, maybe just too much of a change and you aren't used to it yet? I imagine it will grow on you! Please post a picture! You must be still so pretty!
Hope you are feeling better about it by now? At least it wasn't a bad perm...I had one of those in high school and my hair was fried OFF! Talk about teenage trauma, and I have pix too, in the yearbook no less.
