fact of the day...

Hands-down, it is nearly impossible (impossible, I say) to pry one's self out of a bed, laden with flannel sheets...on a cold winter morning.

IMPOSSIBLE.

The only thing that got me out of my snuggly nest was my empty coffee mug luring me to fill it.

How about you all...are you sporting flannel this time of year?

"THANK YOU, Lord, for a bed that is so unbelievably warm, soft and oh-so-very cozy. It's a blessing that goes way beyond what I deserve."

I'm so thankful that my sweet husband has coffee ready for me in the mornings because I hate to crawl out of bed in the mornings but my kids love too:)
Hope you are doing well!
Blessings,
Gayly

It is so so difficult- I have a down comforter- when I'm under that I'm thinking is this what heaven is like?

Hubby gets me coffee in the morning. I'm counting on that happenin in heaven, too!

Not a flannel fan (don't like getting shocked every time I move) but I looooove my down comforter. Ahhhh...it's the BEST. My kids also love it and call it "your big poufy bed."

I was thinking how much I didn't want to get out of bed with Steve in Denver, it is snowy and cold outside, and I just wanted to stay in bed...15 minutes later after having 6-7 children roll all over me, I decided it was better to get up....LOL

Here's a comment from my dear mom (via email):

"I think this every night but I have a love/hate relationship with them. If I am freezing then it is wonderful. If I am hot, I am throwing them off like they are on fire. Oh, you will be there...trust me on this one. Check back!"

yep, your mom's a smart lady. THAT is it exactly! These days it is high thread ct cotton sheets with fleece pjs. Ahhhh.... My hubby gets the coffee too. So sweet. He is a morning person, I am NOT. I have a down comforter and wonderful pillows and think every night it is heavenly. So will there be an entire ward in heaven with coffee in every flavor and comfy beds?? Where we all gather and worship??(while wearing fleece jammies.)

Here I am in sunny San Diego, and we not only have THE softest flannel sheets (a gift - tyvm) but an electric mattress pad - so even warmer. mmmmmm.

I love, love, love my down comforter! I love cuddling up under it after a long day....

My husband brings me coffee. I do believe that is the sign of a truly good man.

YES! I love my flannels & down comforter with the 3 blankets in between!

I am ashamed to say.... I have them on all year round.

I have a myriad of diseases that makes me cold. Even if it is 90 degrees outside. Or my body is in pain because of the smallest bit of cold.

Much to my husband's dismay, as he is melting next to me.

So even the air conditioning is too cold to sleep without them.

And yes we live in Jersey. And yes it is snowing as I type.

And yes, I have been begging to move. lol.

Eww...I must be the only one who thinks flannel sheets just feel wrong! It's kind of like nails on a chalkboard for me. But I do love my down comforter. And, yes, my children "encourage" me to get up.

Flannel, fleece...whatever is warm! I can't believe how windy and cold it is today. I'm so thankful for my warm home, my heated van seats, and hot cups of coffee and tea!

Madeline, I hope the snow in Jersey stays there, we have a little sun in PA.
I vote flannel! and I totally agree, it is better to get out of bed on time instead of waiting on the kids to wake you....they just don't understand "quiet until I get my coffee and breakfast"

Hi.
I adopted an older little girl at 7.5 y/o. She's 8 now. It was a rough go at first. I love how you have to inform folks that (at least near the begining of our kiddos coming home to the U.S.)...it's NOT like they love it here. At least, not all of them do. My Emily is younger and has not processed that "kids are being left behind"...mainly b/c her buddies from the Meizhou SWI HAVE been adopted and we've all communicated and/or met (thanks to our Yahoo group).
Great thoughts on your blog. Well done.
:) Vicki

Love my flannel sheets! I had an electric blanket as a teen/young adult (we heated with a woodburning stove, and the heat just didn't get to upstairs--nothing like COLD saline solution on your contacts to wake you up in the morning!), but gave it up when I got married, since my husband would roast if I added that!

My flannels are so loved and worn that they literally just ripped into shreds when I climbed in last night. I will be on the hunt for some good flannels to replace these beloved antiques!

So until then, guess which side of the bed Robert will be sleeping on????
