littles vs. double-digits

What is it about littles wanting to "help"...but then when they reach double-digits, they apparently join some sort of union that strictly forbids them from being helpful...right at the time when they can actually be really helpful??

3 out of our 4 children turned their noses up at pitching in to help paint the homeschool room (yes, it's coming nicely, now that we are half-way through the school year. Seriously, I'm not complaining...happy to have it whenever I can get it).

But our dependable and eager-to-please Lucy-bug was quick to volunteer her "help".

Bless that child.

Dad and Lucy had a great time together.

Oh and I've got some very special chores for the other 3,
*said with a sheepish grin*.

Oh too funny! I was thinking of writing a very similar post about how my little kids always want to 'help' and the big kids, who are ABLE to actually help, don't want to.

I was wondering how the homeschool room was coming along. Thanks for the update! :),

I do not see a drop of paint on her, how did you pull that off? I feel your hubby's pian--I've been painting the boys room all week. Your DH must really have some patience! I have had to threatenmy kids if they even come close to the door.

I love your little helper. She is too cute painting with her daddy.

My littles are the only ones who want to help here too. My littlest "little" calls herself my assistant. She is always telling me "wait Momma, your assistant can do that." It is so cute! Everything just takes twice as long. LOL!
