a sunny and 70 "snow day"

Well,
our day off from school was mediocre-exciting, but productive.

The kids weren't all that thrilled when I
announced the "snow day" (I didn't tell them Life Skills because
that spells...C.H.O.R.E.S. to them. Quick learners, they are).
When they glanced out the window, a look
of udder disappointment came over them
as it was obviously going to be sunny and 70.
So sad, isn't it?

But,
I built a fine team
and we worked together to get things done.

The young men of the house
drying the floor after I mopped...we did this agonzingly
dreaded chore in record time.
*Yes, I timed us.

But it wasn't all work and no play...

Lucy does EVERYTHING that Macy does.
Everything.
Look at how Lucy's bookmark is positioned
exactly like Macy's.
That wasn't by accident, I assure you.

And looky here....my man brought
me flowers at the end of the day!!!
Aren't they pretty!?

So it's back to the schoolhouse grind today...
Oh goody, I get a break from housework.

A clean house and flowers at the end of the day? Sounds perfect to me! I have a messy house and the few flowers I own are dying for a drink. ~sigh~ Lucy is so cute! I cannot wait to meet her, if not this weekend, then next time. She seems like a hoot!

Yayeee---you have a clean house--such a great feeling! Even if it only lasts all of a few hours :)

I love how much Lucy adores her big sister. That is just the sweetest thing.

Happy schooling today :)

Ok, I took a "snow afternoon" after reading your post yesterday:) We should have been cleaning house but instead we went for a bike ride and collected leaves for our art project:) I love the cleaned hard wood floors... our last 2 houses had beautiful hardwood! How I miss those floors.
Lucy cracks me up doing what Macy does. What a great little sister!
have a blessed week,
gayly

ps- I am going to work trying to figure out the downloads tonight:)

Love the Lucy- Macy pic- the books are positioned perfectly! It looks like Macy gets a kick out of it too!

What a hard working crew you have!

We couldn't join you in your snow day- we kind already had a few light days when Kate and I went out of town!

It's amazing to me that your teenage boys allow you to photograph them--even from behind. My boys--ugh--they freak out and say, "DO NOT put me on your blog." Sigh....

Lucy cracks me up! :)

I dry my wood floors the exact same way. Too funny!

We should have joined your snow day, because we had the most horrendous day of school we've ever had yesterday! We just went on vacation a few weeks ago, so I'm really not wanting to take any more days off right now, but this was ridiculous. Glad you got some life skills done on your life skills day!
