I declare

As the head-honcho in our little schoolhouse,
I declare today...

A Snow day....
Teacher in-service....
Parent/Teacher conference day....
National Holiday....

Whatever you want to call it...

I have made the executive decision that there will
be no school in this house today.

There.
I said it.
And it feels soooo good!

We are going to clean house and do some baking.

So, let's officially call it a Life Skills Day.

********************

And lest you think I would dare
leave you with no pictures to ponder....

Macy (so far) is enjoying doing some
scrapbooking.

So far she has two whole pages...
sure hope she wants to continue with it!
If she's anything like her new siblings
she will be bored with it and never
touch it again.

Meanwhile....

Brenden slipped this log-o-meat into
my shopping cart and as you can see, has
made it all-his-own.

Later that day...
He sat and ate an entire bowl of jello.

Only those of you with growing teenage boys could
possibly understand the on-going snack bill
that goes on in our house.

Now ya'll go have a Happy MONDAY!

And if you homeschool,
make sure you read the memo:
NO SCHOOL TODAY.
Your children will love and thank me.
Tell them no gifts are
necessary...but very appreciated.

Okay, so I can't let my kiddos see this post...they are already asking for a day off because the public schools are closed today! But its not happening over here because we go to Disney in 2 weeks and they will get an entire week off! But I have to say, the idea of taking the day off is very appealing, even to me! Enjoy your day. It makes me smile everytime I see how well Macy is doing. Thanks for continuing to share!

LOL!

We will be having no school DAYS for 2 weeks next month. LORD willing. If I do one now... :)

I remember those teenage eating habits. But believe it or not, my daughter ate WAY more then my son, and she was still a skinny-ninny. People would be shocked when they watched her eat. lol. No lady-like behavior when it came to eating for her...no siree.

Happy no school day!! Oh wait...Happy Life Day!

My children will be sooo happy that there is no school to day!!! Actually, I have to take a little one to a dr, so we weren't doing it any way, but now I don't feel "guilty"- I feel FREE - LOL
When Jace moved to Texas he lived with my parents for awhile. Dad laughed about how much his grocery bill went up when Jace moved in and how it dropped when he moved out! I so understand!

There was No School here on Friday, so actually my girls were anxious to get up & going this AM. Lindsi less than Jami...lol....

A Life Skills Day...fun! Sounds like a Saturday around here....

I bet my 16 year old daughter could give Brendan a run for his money in the eating department. I cannot believe how much she eats! And she is veeeeeery tiny! She says it is because of volleyball season, but I wonder. And, by the way, Ashlyn's volleyball team won their regional championship Saturday night! So we are going to the State finals in Kansas City this weekend!

A day off - if we could only join you in the fun!

I am cracking the whip today - that is after I decide when to go up and wake them up :o)

Us public school teachers and children of have to wait until next Wednesday to get a day off. After praying for all the men and women who serve and have served our country, my sister is treating me to a birthday facial that day. I am sure Joe and Matt would approve!!

Have a fun life skills day as I go teach my cuties!

Half of my kids are sick, yet I'm being a very mean mommy and we're going to do school.....at least as much as we can focus on. But, that's because at any moment I will find out I have to take at least two weeks off to go to China - so I MUST keep up right now.
I hope Macy sticks to the scrapbooking - so far I can't get anyone around here to enjoy that with me!!
And I hear you on the feeding the teenage boys - I only have a 13 year old, and I'm already thinking instead of a "Christmas club" I need a "snack club". And apparently they never outgrow it b/c I have the same problem with a certain 39 year old around here.....

Oh gosh--we have had sooooo much school off! Crazy busy times.

I missed you post yesterday. LOVED the pics. Sounds like the girls had the best time with Grandma. How blessed you are that she lives near you, my friend.

Have a very blessed day off school. Lovely feeling, hey?

Snow? did you say SNOW???? My favorite! I suppose I should get my teen schooler out of bed, too. It is only 8:30, though. He made a new blog - it was waiting on my desktop this morning - take a look!

So sweet of you to give me a much needed day off. I am actually not going to be able to call it a snow day, because here it is bright and sunny and about 70 degrees. lol BUT we could call it a sunny day and too pretty to be inside. We have been doing some school in the evenings(Hey it worked for Abe Lincoln!)

Oh, man, I am in so much trouble. I didn't get the memo and most of our schooling is done. Shhhh...don't tell my kids!

Ok...so the log-o-meat is kind of grossing me out...but such a guy thing.
I am sad that my school did not get the memo that today was a no school day!, but I am in one of those public school places. Oh well! Hope you all enjoyed your life skills day!

My kids will be disappointed I missed the NO SCHOOL notice. I was out of town with two little ones at the doctor and my sweet dh was the school teacher for the day:-) I got my day off, but we're not a day behind. My kind of day!

Wish I had the time to scrap book. I've made a beautiful scrap book (in my mind:-)
