almost finished here!

Today we had our ceremony at the consulate.
Poor Shu Li,
even though our guide told her what was going
on, I don't think she fully understood what
the heck it was all about.
Everything was in English and I'm sure
she had trouble following it all.

Anyway, that marks our final step
and I couldn't be more grateful!!

We will pick up her visa tomorrow then catch
our train to Hong Kong
(we won't arrive there until 8ish PM).

The pic is of our new friend Michelle.
She is a wonderful Christian gal whom I just adore!!
She took it upon herself
to have a chat with Shu Li
(in Chinese, of course) and explained to her how
important it is for her to read her Bible every day.
It really touched my heart greatly!!
She just had her first (and perhaps only) child.
Since she and her husband are only allowed
one pregnancy, she said she might want to adopt!
But get this, she wants to adopt an American
baby!  So sweet! Who knows, maybe that could work out!

Anyway,
I'm just frazzled.
We leave for home on Wednesday around noon
(around 11 PM, central time, Tuesday night).

I will TRY to do at least one more post
before we leave (with more pics, hopefully!).

How totally cool that Michelle told ShuLi those things. I was just thinking how she had probably never heard the Good News before and was praying about that. So cool to read this today!!

Ya know, that $10 massage across from the WS might help your frazzled nerves. :) And the owner is a Christian. :) If you go up the stairs (there is a Youth Hostel and bus station there), continue inside and to the right of the bus ticket counter is a small beauty shop. They will wash your hair and give you a head massage for $3, or you can get a full body massage (with your clothes on) for $10. :)))

I am sure you are getting so excited to get home to see your other kids. It has been great for you to have the last couple weeks alone with Shu Li to bond. Praying for safe travels home.

You're on the home stretch now. How wonderful that someone was able to talk to Shu Li about God and prepare her to follow in the Word. Could you get a Chinese bible while you're there? Just a thought. That way she could read it until she is fluent in english.

From this side of the world, it seems like your journey has flown by. I can't believe you are already coming home. I look forward to seeing the first pictures of all of your children. I hope Shu Li is prepared for your fun loving boys:-) (I bet they put her at ease before you know it...they seem like great boys).

Homeward stretch!!! Can't wait to see Shu Li at home with your funny boys. SHe is going to be so happy!! It is hard to believe this part of your adoption journey is coming to a close!!

Very sweet your friend, Michelle, talked to Shu LI about Jesus. It just helps plant the seed even more and to have it coming from another CHinese person and in China is even better!!!
