I'm not sure what has come over me.
But my family is lovin' me for it cause I'm whipping up all
kinds of yummy goodies.
Monday I made four, yes four
loaves of wheat bread.
Ok, the first two loaves were brick-like.
But...
the next two were fantastical.
I blame my friend Lacy who has inspired me
to become anindependent woman amazing homemaker.
I think I would have fit quite nicely in the 1950s.
Yesterday K-man went to Sam's to pick up some milk.
I had him get some flour and sugar too...
25 lbs of each...you know, to feed my new
bread-making/pie-baking habit.
Don't you know that he was more than
happy to oblige.
Then......I made French bread.
Oh.My.Stars.
SOOOO easy to make and let me tell ya....
Dee-licious.
And because my Happy Homemaker hat was still
on, I thought...what, what the heck.
I'll make a cherry pie.
There will be cherry pie in heaven,
I'm sure of it.
So that was my day.
Don't believe the rumors that Lucy was in
her pajamas...
all.day.long.
while I was working away in the kitchen.
Now if you will excuse me,
I need to start my3 5 hour trek on my treadmill.

Those goodies look awesome. I bet your family is loving you. I wish I could do all of that stuff.
Glad your internet is back working.

WOW!!!! I bet the men in your house feel like they've gone to heaven. I LOVE cherry pie & the French bread looks delicious too.
Umm...no Frebreeze` at your house I'm sure. Nice baking smells instead.
My girls always want to help. Yesterday, we made rice krispie treats...no wonderful smells from that though....lol....
yum! yum! yum!
any recipes you would like to share?
will you email me your french bread recipe ? I made whole wheat ones once and my little girl(who was Lucy's age at the time) said, MOMMY! I did not know you knew how to make bricks!!! (we were reading about ancient egypt and making bricks at the time, so of course I didn't tell her it was really supposed to be bread. lol I am so clever) ;-) Your pictures would make Martha St*wart jealous. Beautiful! I am off to hop on my mini trampoline while watching TV.
Wow..Im impressed. Thats a beautiful pie, and the bread isn't lookin to shabby either. Are you sure you didn't invite Martha over for coffee??? hee, hee.
My invitation for coffee and pie must have gotten lost in the mail. Maybe next time.
Post your french bread recipe if you would please!!
Don't you love the smell of homemade bread in the house?
Who knows - maybe you will be traveling to C sooner than you think - isn't this activity called "nesting"??????
Love homemade bread, my family is SPOILED, they are not sure the store bought stuff is edible.
Pie looks lovely
I'm sure Lucy didn't mind being in her pj's all day.
Sheesh...I'm not going to be able to be your friend anymore if you keep being so over-the-top homemakerish. How are the rest of us lugs supposed to live up to that!? :)))) hee
Sounds like you are nesting! I hope that means that more good adoption news is on the way.
Could you post your french bread recipe?
Have a great (tasty) week!
All the best,
Nicole A. in OH

Wow you are the happy homemaker.
I love to cook to most of the time. It seems like it goes in spurts. I get in the mood for a few months and cook all the time. Then I get tired of it and take a few weeks off and we have hamburger helper for awhile. haha
That cherry pie looked delicious!
