Super Secret Project!!

*revealed*
Though we felt very certain we would adopt an older child after Lucy,
it happened much quicker than we
expected.

But what were we to do?? We discovered we had another daughter
waiting for us in Ch*na & nothing would stop us
from goin' to get her, quick as possible.

And even though our agency has waived many of its fees for
our sweet Shu Li,
there are still many expenses.

I have prayed for months over this....do we do a fundraiser?
Or not?

If so, what should that look like?

I prayed....A LOT!

Then the answer came to me.
The parable that Jesus told about the talents (Matt. 25:14-30) revealed it.

I felt sure that I was to use my "talents".....

that I should work hard, as unto the Lord,
to raise the funds we need.

So I began to....sew.

And oh my gracious did I have a ball!

And here you go....

A rag quilt (throw) that is super warm!

This fun bag
is just as cute
on the inside

as the outside!

19"x14"
Great for a
diaper bag!

And some more great bags...

Here's the scoop....

Enter by:

*Leaving a comment (on this post) or email me for one entry.
**One comment entry per person.

*Plugging my giveaway on your blog for one entry.
**Please let me know in a comment that you are

Easy as can be!!

The drawings will be held on Wednesday, June 17!

If there is anything you just love and don't want to take a chance on
not winning the drawing, email me and if the fabric is still
available I would love to make the identical
item for you for a set price.

Oh yes....one last (very important) thing....
Take a peek at our sweet girl, would ya?

Isn't that the sweetest face ever?!
I'm so in love.

Thank you in advance for whatever you are
able to do to help us bring
our darling daughter home.

Couple of things:

1: What gorgeous stuff! I love it all. You are so talented! I for sure want to be entered! I will post a plug for you in just a little bit on my blog and I will be glad to chip in $10!

2: Funny that you posted about this. I know you don't know me or my story, so I will be brief. I desperately want to adopt, my husband does not. However, last night I poured my heart out to him, weeping. We didn't get very far. This morning rolls around and he comes to me to say that he wouldn't have such a hard time if it weren't for the money. He is terrified of that. So we are making progress, but I don't know how to make him feel better. I have no idea where the money would come from. I can not sew. LOL.

3: Shu Li is gorgeous. I am not sure why, but when I saw her I started crying (dumb I know) but I am just so happy for her. I can't wait to see her adoption story unfold.

Lastly, I am sorry that I have written you a book here. Jeez, you must think I am a psycho stalker. I promise I am not psycho, LOL.

Shu Li is so pretty, I'm so glad to finally see her picture. Good luck with the fundraiser, you are one talented lady!

P.S. After reading Michele's comment, I realized I'm not the only one who has a husband afraid to commit to adoption. We have to keep working on these guys!

Oh Lori...so happy to finally "meet" your daughter. I know you can hardly wait to bring her home. What a wonderful time that will be.

I will gladly put a plug in for you on my Blog. Sorry, that's all my single mom purse strings allow for these days.

My family often jokes that if I ever won the lottery, I'd be like a mini Oprah..dispersing funds to all of my worthy causes....

And, of course I will pray that it all comes together quickly for you.

I wanted to come back and say thank you for the sweet words! They mean more than you know. And after talking to my husband again, he finally said YES!!!!!! Praise Jesus!! He did say that he would like to pay off our credit card first, and I am FINE with that! This is the same husband that was adamant 6 months ago that we would never adopt! YIPPEE JESUS!

I gave you a little plug on my blog too! Hopefully, it will help!

I'm absolutely thrilled for Shu Li! I adopted my daughter at age 6 1/2 and so much wanted to go back, but when the CCAA changed their rules a while back, they decided we were too old. :-( But we are so blessed to have the child that China did let us have. I'm a blogger friend of Lindsi's and Jami's mom, Debby. And now I know that your Lucy and my daughter are Fu sisters too. Anxious to learn more about Shu Li and follow you when you get to go bring her home.

Right now our family (me, husband, and 3 teenage daughters) are in Colombia finalizing the adoption of our 2 sons (12 & 6 years old). It has been quite the process, but worth every minute, piece of paper, and dollar spent. They are AMAZING boys and we are so blessed to add them to our family! Your family is beautiful and we will be praying for Shu Li to come home soon!

Lori,
I came over from Sarah's blog, Splashin Glory and I am so glad that I did. I absolutely loved your blog, your family, your heart, everything! I love your family pic at the bottom of your blog. I do not know why but it moved me to tears. I think it is wonderful you are increasing your family through adoption. I donated a little bit toward that as well. I hope and pray that everything comes together smoothly for you and your family to adopt that sweet girl. I would like to continue to come back and visit often. My time spent here today was very enjoyable.

Hey,
I finally got a chance to do this. We had dial-up and I have been having the worst time with blogs. I now have high speed so I just posted on my blog about your giveaway.

These are beautiful things but I LOVE the quilt. You need to go into business making this stuff.

Best of luck on your endeavor - she's beautiful and will be a wonderful addition to your family. My downstairs neighbors/pseudo sisters were adopted from China, and I've known both of them since their mom brought them home 16 and 5 years ago respectively. They are my inspiration to adopt someday.
