Dancin' With the Stars & Toilet Tuesday

I never would have guessed that a post on grammar would generate so much "talk." My hubby came home last night, sat down to read my blog and gave me a blank stare...."what in the world?" Suffice it to say that he didn't finish reading and made it clear that I had dropped the boring bomb on my blog for the day! Well, ok I admit it wasn't exactly earth-shattering and it sure doesn't have any eternal effects (a noun so it's effect, right?) but it was worth a quick brush up on the correct way to use our language, don't ya think? :)

Oh and now I am super paranoid as I'm typing this....and I'm sure you all are too so let's just not worry about it, okie dokie?

Last night the new season of D*ancing with the Stars started, which Brenden (and Nick too....sorta) has been waiting a long time for. But only because Shawn Johnson was on. Here is how that brief moment in our evening looked:

Yes, B is sitting in Lucy's little chair. And she made it known that she didn't like him doing so! But we are trying to teach her to share so we just let B stay there for the duration of the dance. I told B to smile for the camera and he told me that the look he was sporting better showed his intense interest. My kids are so weird.

And I have declared Tuesdays to be Toilet Tuesday because I have figured out that part of my problem with keeping up on housework & other things is that I have no routine. So, I'm scheduling my toilet cleaning. So, today it is. Please hold me accountable.

okay, the shawn johnson addiciotn is starting to freak me out a litt.e if she ever gets a stalker and it's publicized, i'm pointing the authorities in the direction of your house.

and, ew! don't do the toilets. gross! that's what you have teenagers for. ew! (i typically make jon clean ours, but since he's gone, i don't mind so much since i don't have the "man splatters")

Ok Lori, I love ya and all, and I'm totally with you on the grammar rules. However, ending sentences with prepositions (like for, and on) is a grammar no-no. I got burned by my literature professor for that one! :)

Sending you love from Indiana,

Morgyn

Morgyn... I'm not sure which sentence of mine you are referring to but according to this link http://www.grammarbook.com/grammar/probPrep.asp you can end a sentence with a preposition under certain circumstances. Though I'm sure I didn't follow the rule they are referring to.

Who knows...

Love the photos of B in the little pink chair. Have to say though that Shawn could go pretty far in this competition. She did a great job.

The grammar posts were fun.

On a somewhat not really related note. The #1 turn off for women in internet web dating postings is mis spelled words!! I thought I was probably the only woman around who discarded any potential mate by the amount of misspelled words. Apparently NOT. But seriously, if they can't check their spelling on a first impression intro, who wants to waste their time on that??

Debby...I totally agree! Fellas, spell-check already!

I recently changed my web browser to one that spell-checks ANYWHERE I type...even when leaving comments. It's awesome!

So let's see...I've seen Memorial Box Monday, Wordless Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, and now we have Toilet Tuesday...works for me! :)

Gotta see if I can remember Toilet Tuesday, will there be Window Wednesday and Floor Friday...hmmm Toy Thursday and Sink Saturday, that would leave Mon for....MOM! And since there is not a day starting with "L" can we just ignore the Laundry?

Lori at JOY Unspeakable said...

Oh Chris I like the way you think! Mom Monday sounds heavenly! But I'm not too keen on Window Wednesday...how about Worship Wednesday and we can go to church! I like that. Windows are way too much work...though I know mine will need some attention this spring. **sigh**

I'm thinking that with 2 teen age boys in your house that Tuesday should be They clean The Toilet Tuesdays. My oldest boys are 11 and 6 and I gladly handed the job over to them. Hey, the way I look at it, I'm not the one making the BIG mess. I say, "pass the brush:-)". (it's easy for me to say since they are still at the age where they consider cleaning the house fun:-)

Your grammar post has me stressed out leaving a comment. I am sure I have a lot of errors. I'm going to link comments and texting together....I have a hard time with both of them:-)

Oh Karen! Don't ever feel stressed to leave a comment here! I honestly don't judge anyone based on their grammar! Golly, it's what's in your heart that matters, right?

I love your idea about the boys cleaning the bathroom...my husband tells me that all the time. My problem is...I'm a control freak and I just want it done right. I know, I'm not doing their future wives any favors. I am trying to make them do more and more.

Ooooh, oooh, I have another one: people who write "could of" instead of "could have"! Seriously, "you could of said that"? I think not. I think you "should have studied your grammar"! Well, I would never say that to them, but I do think it. :-)

And on to more interesting things! ... When are you allowed to post a picture of Shu Li? Any new news?

All the best!

This is all so funny, Lori. I have to admit (maybe you shouldn't tell B this) that because of the post title, I at first thought B was sitting on a fancy little potty seat as he watched Dancing with the Stars...LOL That would have TRULY been blind obsession! :)

If you were a product of the 70s, come on over for a blog visit. I've got a flashback for you. :)

{{{Hugs}}}as you wait for your paperwork. (What a wonderful lady in CO!)
