Lazy Ends Here

Ok, I intended to start this yesterday....but my WM post just seemed appropriate for a Monday. But from here on out, every Monday WE will be memorizing scripture TOGETHER!! Look Lurkers, we (really I'm speaking for myself but will drag you into this category as well) have become lazy!! We need to hide God's word in our heart!!! I suggest you print this out or re-type it and post it around your house or car or forehead where you can read it & meditate on it and MEMORIZE it!! Come on, are you with me?? PLEASE leave me a comment or email if you are going to join me....we will memorize a new passage every week, and by the end of the year we will have learned 52 bits of Scripture!! Awesome!!

Here we go!! This week's passage is.....

1 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Last night Nick had a game two hours away from our house....whew, I hate those long drives. But it was a blow-out & our guys won big time. Nick made 20 points!!! He is a machine!!!

This is Thomas...a 6'2" 14 year old that we are SO GLAD to have on our team! His mom is my sweet friend Martha.

This is Martha's daughter Emily & fast becoming Lucy's buddy. Emily is one of my very favorite teenagers in the world! Super sweet & loves the Lord!

I'm with you, Lori. But couldn't you have picked something a little easier for the first one? lol

Lucy home and boy has it been encouraging and entertaining. I know I can always count on you to bring a laugh to my day.

Thanks for your transparency and how you speak boldly the truth. I will also try to follow you as you "hide God's word" but I'm also home schooling my four year old son and we, together, are learning new verses each week. We'll see if my 39 year old brain can do double duty.

Okay- I am going to try- but I am not sure if memorization is possible for me (the brian is full of garbage- maybe it's time to forget about my 7 th grade boyfriend?) Time to take out the garbage- kinda catchy!
I love the scripture idea- I'm with ya!
Blessings,
Jean

Lori, this is a GREAT idea! I'm in! But I have to admit, ...a one-liner would have been easier for me to get the first time around. (I think having four kids in rapid succession did something to my powers of retention!) I'm going for it, though! :)

How funny! That's the exact scripture I picked for my first one of the year. I can't do a new one every week, so I've agreed to go along with the LPM blog & do two per month. I sure need to have God's word on my heart in the instant it is needed.

I'm with ya. Wow, it's a long one to start us off with:-) I've been wanting to memorize more scriptures this year and this was just the kick I needed.

Great idea!! I am going to add this verse to my blog as well!! I am not a very good memorizer but I will give it my all. I think I am going to get the girls at work involved as well:)

Count me in ... will do my best to memorize and will certainly read it at least daily. There seem to be some quite acute cases of Mommy Brain going around lately, me included! Have a great week!

All the best,

Lori,

I am in too, but I am going to be happy just reading the verse everyday, several times a day and I will call that an accomplishment!

There is a woman in her sixties at our church who has memorized chapters in the bible. It is awesome to hear her recite them. It is like hearing a story. I am in awe of her and accept that is not my gift!
