Ok, if you have followed our adoption journey from the beginning you know how our hearts have been open to whatever God has called us to do. We first began our adoption adventure thinking we would get a non-special needs baby....but desperately seeking God, knowing that for whatever reason, we weren't going to wait the vveerryy lloonngg wait for a baby. As our hearts were softened to the Waiting Children's lists, we realized that the reason we felt certain we wouldn't have to wait the agonizing 2..3..4+ years, was because our child would be on one of those lists. Well, long story short, we ended up with the perfect little girl, Lucy, who even though she was on the list...she is perfectly healthy, strong and the most adorable little thing ever! God is good!
But something began stirring in our hearts as we viewed those lists....we began to see that God had called us to set our own picture of what we wanted our family to look like aside and to truly desire HIS picture....whatever that meant. While viewing the list that had our sweet Lucy on it, we were heartbroken over the older children. We even applied for one, thinking for sure we would get her but didn't. I had a hard time adjusting to the thought of anything other than a little bitty baby girl but felt God giving me peace that He would bring us the perfect child, which He did. But our hearts were broken for those older children for a reason....He would eventually call us to adopt one....

Wow! That is big news! But I'm not surprised - you have been blessed by Lucy & who wouldn't want to do that again. :) I'm proud of you & so proud to know you.
