Look Up

**Two posts in one day?? You must be thinking that I'm hoovering over my computer ready to pounce at the slightest insight that I feel compelled to share! Ok, maybe just a little. Truth is my sweet husband sent a text saying he is bringing a bucket of chicken home so I'm off the hook for dinner time duties!! He's so dreamy.

Ok, lest you think that I have this strange 2-sided personality, one being super serious & spiritual, the other silly & downright spacey...well...lest nothin', you are right! I'm really both. If we were to chat person to person over a good cup of coffee, you would quickly find that both of those opposites are woven throughout my personality. I really like to look at the bright side of life and not focus on the negative and I have always been really freaked out by "doom & gloom" Christians so I hope that 's not what I'm sounding like in my various posts. Truth is, if you know Jesus, your future is awesomely bright no matter what your portfolio is looking like these days, who's in office or how behind you are on housework (oh I'm especially thankful for that one!). So having said all that, please read this great daily devotional that I got today from Turning Point Ministries by David Jeremiah.

Look Up

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28

Binyamin Elon, a Jewish Rabbi and member of the Israeli Knesset, wrote, "I believe that if you do not know how to read the Bible, you cannot understand the daily paper." While we don't want to over-interpret prophecy, it's hard to see today's world—with its wars and rumors of war, with the Gospel being preached around the globe, with the rise of the modern state of Israel, and with the constant danger of nuclear apocalypse—without recalling that all these are predicted in Scripture.

Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost said, "God, the architect of the ages, has seen fit to take us into His confidence concerning His plan for the future and has revealed His purpose and program in detail in the Word. A greater body of Scripture is given to prophecy than any other one subject, for approximately one-fourth of the Bible was prophetic at the time it was written."
As we see all these things unfolding before us, we shouldn't shake our heads in bewilderment or hang them in despair. The Bible tells us to lift up our heads. Our redemption is drawing near.

Israel is God's timepiece; its foundation is the supersign…weighty evidence that we are indeed living in the endtimes.Tim LaHaye
