Pie recipe...cafe design ideas!

Click HERE for the strawberry pie recipe!

It's blurry because I'm a horrible photographer, AND what you don't see here
is all my people standing with forks in-hand, hurrying me along.
I literally can't focus under such pressure!!

I'm in the thick of research and planning my POTENTIAL bakery/cafe!
It's not a sealed deal yet...but, I am feeling like such a big
business girl these days!

I thought I'd share with you some of my design ideas I found on Pinterest...

Oh, I could go on and on and on!!

But, I've got cinnamon buns to get out of the oven.

Have a glorious Tuesday, friends.

fun weekend...BIG SECRET!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Side note real quick, I just now saw that the link to my business FB page on my last post was
wrong, my apologies!  It's correct now...and here it is again, in case you
want to go LIKE it!  That'd be great.

We had such a fun weekend!
My sisters, niece, and mom got together for a girls' day.
We cut hair, ate good food, and just thoroughly enjoyed each other to pieces!

And the Littles and I enjoyed a thrilling shopping spree at Menard's with Kman!
Thrilling!

I'm up to my eyebrows in baking again this week.
And I'll let you in on a little tiny secret...because I have a hard time keeping
anything quiet.
I am CONSIDERING and researching the idea of opening a cafe/bakery.
SQUEAL!
A real live storefront!  Little me, doing that!

I can't wait!

Alrighty, gotta run for now...much to do!

Peace and blessings, friends!

Busy-BUSY!

Whew!  It's finally Friday!
What a busy week it's been.  And actually, I still have a lot more to do.
Working my rear off has become my middle name.
The paradox is, my rear is getting bigger and bigger.
Weird.

This week I made (for catering events):

425 turnovers.
700+ mini cupcakes.
300+ mini cinnamon buns.
And more.

It's amazing to me what we're capable of doing with God's divine strength and wisdom...
and stamina!!!

Here's a few pics:

I'd sure love it if you'd like my business Facebook page!

I hope to have mail order items up and running in the near future!

Have a great weekend, friends!

bake something!!

Today is Tuesday.
And Tuesdays are my baking days.
Like, hard-core baking.

I bake around 100 items each week for our church coffee bar.
It's really fun when it's not totally stressful.

So here's what I baked this morning:

*Banana Bread (three loaves)
*Baked Donuts, (Cinnamon-Swirl and Chocolate Chip)
*Chocolate Chip Scones

and....my newest creation,

*Almond-Chocolate-Espresso Coffeecake

Oh my.  It's super yummy!!

I think it's going to be a hit.

So anyway, if you're ever in my neighborhood on Tuesdays,
swing by and we'll grab something delicious and fresh out of the oven,
and a mug of coffee.
(Actually, don't drop in on my, please.  I am pretty spent by the end of all this.)

I really think there's a baker in all of us, you just gotta reach down deep,
practice A LOT, and balance the art of following a recipe closely,
and taking a chance by changing it up, to make it your very own.

If you need some inspiration AND a semi-tutorial in baking,
I highly HIGHLY recommend this cookbook:

Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook

I wish I was getting some sort of commission off of this recommendation, but I'm not. (Whatever.)
But truly, it's a GREAT resource and has amazing recipes and pictures.
This gal has been on Paula Dean's show several times and owns
a highly successful bakery in Georgia.
I want to be her when I grow up.
(However, I'm certain she's much younger than me.)
(So, maybe I'll be her if I ever get younger.)

I would soooooo love to own my own bakery someday.
But, it would only be open one day a week because I couldn't possibly
get up early every morning to do all this every single day.

And that's why I'm still a little stay-at-home-baker mom in the woods.

Enjoy your day.
And, BAKE SOMETHING, for goodness sake!

for sale!

Before Christmas,
a few of you asked me about mail-ordering my Ezekiel Bread Mixes.
So sorry I am just now addressing your inquiries!

I certainly can ship them, no problem.
They are $4 each, plus shipping fees (which I need to find out about).
I know that in the past, it was cheaper to ship
at least two mixes at a time.

If you are interested,
please send me an email at loriatjoyunspeakable@yahoo.com

Other items I can easily ship:

Vanilla Extract $16
Ezekiel flour*  $4 (2 lb.)
Life Flour** $4 (2 lb.)

*Ezekiel flour differs from the bread mix as it is only milled grains & beans
(organic Kansas wheat, rye, spelt, barley, millet, kidney beans, red beans, green lentils)
The bread mix contains all of that, plus other dry ingredients necessary
for a lovely loaf of bread.
Add this flour to breads, pancakes, tortillas & more!

**Life Flour is my signature flour blend that I add to
all my baked goodies.
(Organic Kansas wheat, spelt, millet, barley, oat groats)
This flour is much lighter than the Ezekiel flour & much more baked-goods friendly.
