the TEN

Hey, guys.
I hope you are having a sunshiny Friday!

Just thought I'd share with you a really great book.

We are doing a ten-week study at our church called,
The TEN.
Based on the book,
Journey to the Heart of God.
By Jimmy Evans

It's really great!
And I'd particularly recommend it to new Christians.

Easy and excellent read!

Enjoy!

two new things

I have two new things that I love.

L.O.V.E.

The first thing is,
this little coffee maker thingymajig that my sister Dana got me for my birthday.
She so knows me.

It's ceramic and you just grind your beans, put them in the filter thingy
placed in the coffee thingy.
Then just pour hot-hot-hot water slowly into it.
And you must be sure to have a mug underneath it.
(Don't ask me how I know that.)

(To any of you who would like me to write  descriptive instructions for your product, let me know.  As you can clearly see, I'm good at it.)

Listen, people.
I don't know how, why, when, or where,
but this makes THE BEST cup of coffee ever. EVER.

It's my favorite thing ever. EVER.

Secondly,
I am reading this book.
This eye-opening, shocking, and attention-grabbing book.
All I can say is,
READ IT.
I'm only about seven chapters into it...so I will write more about it when I'm finished.

It's actually a fictional book, based on the true events of 911,
and what Scripture has to say about it.
Yep, that's right.

Really, READ IT for yourself.

It's time to WAKE UP!

7 {a must read!}

 Ok so,
when Patty was here
(I won't stop talking about Patty's visit for another 2 1/2 months,
just so you know),
we went to hear Jen Hatmaker speak
at a women's dinner at my church.

She was amazing.
You'd be mighty blessed if you listened to it.
(Go HERE to HEAR)
(Haha)
(You may have to skim through the sermons to find hers).

Anyhow,
Patty and I were so blessed and convicted
and resolved to never speak of anything other than
serving the Lord.
Ever.
Even though we whine endlessly to each other
about various and particular things,
we are determined to be thankful and
walk humbly with our God.
Together.

Patty and me.
And the rest of my fabulous friends.

Here's Jen.
She was so dang funny.
And real.
And funny, funny, funny.
And the word she brought messed me up real good.

And I immediately wanted to
buy every single book she's written.
(I need to stop starting sentences with And)
But I have no money.
However, God has a way of providing
all the things we need (big and small)...
and my dearest friend Mary loaned me three,
count them, THREE, of her books.
I is soooo giddy.

And I'm reading this one first.

Oh.My.Gracious.

I have never laughed OUT LOUD,
and felt so convicted, all in one page.
After page, after page, after page.

Seriously,
go buy this book.
Or borrow it from your friend Mary.

You will love it.
And you will love me for recommending it.

I must go now.
There are little children begging me to
feed them dinner.

And because I'm a good mother,
I will feed them.

Enjoy your Tuesday evening.

(Today is Tuesday, right?)

fresh wind, fresh fire {a MUST read}

I sure hope your weekend was wonderful, friends!

We had over 15 people come forward to receive Jesus
at church!

Oh my word,
it just makes my heart burst with excitement to see
so many lives changed by our Savior, week after week.

God is AT WORK.

Which brings me to my latest read.

My mother-in-law passed this book onto me.

Wowie, is all I can say.
It is an amazing book about the power of prayer.

Fresh Wind Fresh Fire
"What Happens When The Spirit
Invades the Hearts of His People."

I'm not even finished reading it
but decided that I needed to tell you about
it right away.

AND...

I am giving away a copy!

Leave a comment that you'd like a chance
to win and I'll throw your name in the hat.

And since there can only be one winner,
I highly recommend that the rest
of you go buy yourself a copy.

And if you've already read it, let me know what you think.

I'm going to wait until the end of the week
to do the drawing, giving everyone plenty of time
to enter.
