fun evening!

We went to a super fun fundraiser at church last night!
A sweet little mom and her daughters are getting ready to go full-time
onto the mission field...and we were delighted to help
them raise some money for their God-size adventure!

The highlight of the night for my little kiddos was most definitely the face-painting.
The gal who did it is AMAZINGLY talented!
(Seriously, she did the faces of about 100 children and they all turned out so adorable.  If you are
local and are needing someone for a fun kid-party..let me know & I'll hook you up!)
Look how darling Lucy and her adorable friend Allie are!

And Isaiah...with his dragon-face!
Super cool.

But the highlight of MY evening was when K-Man was dragged onto the
stage during the T. Texas Terry Wild West show.
Oh my.
I nearly had fell out of my chair laughing.
But he was SUCH a good sport.
So much so that someone afterwards asked him if it was all pre-planned.
(There he is on the left in the cow-skirt and hat.)

He's just a natural show-guy, I tell ya.

We are standing by the phone waiting for Hollywood to call.

Such a fun-filled evening!!

what i'm doing today

Lest I unleash my fuming fury
over our so called, Commander-In-Chief,
frolicking around campaigning like a school girl
running for prom queen
instead of paying attention to the world-altering
attacks going on,
and shunning the leader of THE most
spiritually important country in the world,

(%$*#$*&@!!!)

I will tell you what I'm going to do today.

I'm baking!

Here's a couple of things I'll be making
for our church coffee bar for this weekend:

Baked Dutch Apple Doughnuts

Rustic Pumpkin Scones

Plus one or two other things that I don't have
pictures of.

And that's all I'm going to say.

Good day to you.

And hey, let's bless God, America.

desperation {camp!}

Hey, guys!

Macy and Eli, and 170+ other teens from
our church youth group,
are on their way to Colorado for camp!

They are doing all kinds of fun*fun*fun things,
plus attending the
in Colorado Springs.

Would you please join me in prayer for
them throughout the week?
That they would have fun, make friends,
and come to Jesus.

Thank you sooo much!

wednesday nights {what do you do?}

Aww, it's Wednesday.

Which for us,
that means things will get crazy-busy later as
we cram in dinner, then rush out to take the kiddos to church.

When I was a kid,
we went to church three times a week.
Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night.

Sadly, Sunday night services seem to be a thing of the past.

And even Wednesday nights aren't quite what they used to be.
Schools used to not schedule any activities because
it was set aside for family time (including church).

But nowadays,
that is quickly changing.

Lucy going to her first night of Awana
She has LOVED it ever since then.

So, what do you guys do on Wednesday nights?

AWANA?
Missionettes - Royal Rangers?
Youth group?

Do you still have service for adults?

Whatever you do,
be blessed, and be a blessing!!

crazy sock night {and God's great ideas}

Lucy is an official "Cubbie" in Awana's on Wednesday day nights
and simply could not be more excited.
Week after week she memorizes and writes out
her Bible verses.
And is so stinkin' proud of it.
Me too.

Well...after I took Macy to youth group ONCE,
I realized how totally lost she was.
The youth pastor spoke way too fast, used words and terms
that completely flew over her head.
And though she didn't tell me any of this,
my spirit could discern it and I knew it wasn't going to work.

SO,
I decided to look into having her volunteer in Awana's.
She could be a help to the overly worked workers
AND
learn about Jesus in a much slower-paced environment
on the spiritual level that she's on.

So far, so good.

I love it when God gives me great ideas.
Lord knows I have enough silly ones all on my own.

So last night was Crazy Sock night.
It was for the children and workers alike.
And Macy jumped right on that fun idea.

But first a quick pic of part of my crew and me as we
were heading out the door.
Kindly ignore the catch-all laundry room and filthy mirror in the background. Thank you.

And how precious are we?
Spittin' image of their mama, don't you think?

And finally, the socks revealed.
I'm not kidding you, they were the most darling
girls at church.
Hands down.
And do notice the certain someone on the stairs in between the girls.
He'll be happy you did.

God is good!

Chinese Church

Golly, I sure hate a post with no pics.
But,
I don't have any that would relate to
what I'm writing about...though I wish I did
(more on that later)!

Macy and I went to a Chinese Christian church this morning!
They meet at the private school that my kids
are involved in so it was already somewhat familiar
to her (she's been to the school a few times now).

There were SO MANY families and tons of babies!
It was soooo great!!!
We had the option of staying in the main service,
which was in Chinese or go to the
youth class.
We opted for the youth class
(they were gracious enough to let me join in...
even though I'm not so youthful...ahem).

I was disappointed that it was in English but the
great part was that all the kids (ok, there were only 3 of them)
are bilingual and talked to her in Chinese!
There was a guy who is slightly older than her and he is
SO CUTE!!!!
I wanted SO BADLY to whip out my phone and
take a pic cause I knew y'all would want
to see him cause he's SO CUTE!
But, knowing full well that a mother of teenagers
just doesn't do such things, I resisted the temptation.
But dog-gone it he is soooo cute!
And SUCH a gentleman!
*Husband material*

It was super great because they are doing a
verse-by-verse study of the Bible,
and memorizing portions.
I was really encouraged by that and hope to
take her there again and again.

YAY!! I just love these divine encounters!
God totally led us there!!
