Chickens, Birthdays & What-Nots

Hello there, my amigos!

Let's see, the temps climbed to around 60 over the weekend, now they are plummeting, with
talks of several episodes of snow in the forecast.
Yep, we're in Kansas.
I've got my bathing suit, scarf, gloves, and beach towel all on the ready.

My poor chickens and kitty cats just don't ever know what's coming next.
Although I do have a radio on in my hen house, so assuming my chickens pay attention, perhaps they
listen in on the weather updates.  But I don't know that for sure.

For now, they are all enjoying snow-free outdoor activities.

I was going to talk to you today about how a stay-at-home mom can help contribute
to the family income.
But I have a full day of contributing to my family income!
So I need to get a move-on and that subject is going to have to wait for another day,
unless I can sneak in some time here later on.
We'll see!

But before I go, I have some cute pictures from Nick's little birthday celebration to share.

He's so darn sweet and cute!

 Two of my best guys!

 Nicky and his Nana.

K-Man and his older brother (he's single, girls!!).

Yes, the other children and I were all there too.  But apparently the camera got put down
and never found its way to snapping any more photos.

In other news:  BRENDEN is coming home on Friday for spring break!!!!
YAYYYYYY!
And we'll celebrate his 21st (GASP!) birthday while he's here.

Well ya'll, I've got children to feed & educate, muffins and what-nots to be baked,
hair appointments to do, and errands to be run.
All before I start dinner.
(Or maybe we'll just have the muffins and what-nots for dinner!)

Stay warm and enjoy your day!!

my friday night [single brother in-law]

Last Friday night was Senior Night at our little high school.
How sweet of them to honor me like that!
Go Senior-Citizen-Lori!!

Oh wait.
I'm confused.

Anyway,
the seniors in HIGH SCHOOL and their parents were given the spotlight
before the football game.
It was so fun!

Look at me with my Nicky and K-Man!
Right there in the middle of the field.
See us??

Here we are again.
I am famous now!!!

Here is Nick with his girlfriend, Sarah.
So very cute, they are!!
Even though it makes my soul insanely bitter to think of sharing any
of my men-children with another gal.
Ahhhhhh!
Therapy will help, I'm sure.

Then back on the ranch later that night we ate cake and did some working out.

Brenden was determined to get Isaiah to do a pull-up.
(Brenden's home for fall break!)
And his plan failed.

The lil' dumpling just couldn't pull himself up.
Well, duh.

Then my SINGLE brother-in-law, Kenny took try at it.

He did like 50 of them.
Or somethin'.
STUD!!

AND Kenny also made a down-right sinful chocolate cake.
(He's single, girls!)

Did I mention that he's SINGLE?

My work here is done.

brenden back to college

We took Brenden back to college today.

Boohoohooohooo!

I was so sad....and so happy.
I know that's horrible (the happy part).
But this kid was at the end of his rope with being
at home.
He had no job.
He had no hobbies.
(Except eating and sleeping.)
And he was just so ready to be back
on his own.
I can't blame him!
I love his little college and am so happy for him!

Here is the pictorial:

Leaving Lucy.
The hardest part for both of them.
(Seriously, they are so attached.)

Unloading at school.

 Unloading, done.
Going to lunch now.

Lunch at a BBQ place.
Uncle Kenny came along with us.
We love him!
(He is SINGLE, girls!  Just saying. More on that later.)

Then we went for a quick-trip to a thrift store.

Brenden driving us to the thrift store.
(This is so exciting, right?)

Look what I found!
Is this not the most hideous thing you've ever seen,
ever?
I so bought it!
No, I did not.
DID NOT.

And B really wanted this dental chair
for his dorm room.
Maybe for Christmas.

Then we said goodbye.

Uncle Kenny and Brenden.

Brenden and me.
(Wahhhhh!)

K-Man, Brenden, and me.
(Wahhh, wahhh, WAHHHH!)

The End.

Now, leave me alone while I
cry my eyes out, and deal with the remaining kids.

One down, FIVE to go!

Yesssssss!
