your weekend {plans and menu}

It's Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday,
Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend, weekend...

Start singing that song all day today.
Especially if you have teenagers, they will love it.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about,
consider yourself blessed just a little bit more than those of us
who do.

Moving on.

So, what's on your plate for this weekend, weekend?

I just might come unglued if any of you tell me that you
still haven't taken down your Christmas decorations.

There are support groups for people like you.

Now let's not talk about this again for at least 11 1/2 months.

Anyway, here's what I want to know regarding your weekend:

1. Do you have any fun plans?

2. What are you making for breakfasts/lunches/dinners?

I need meal ideas.

So far, my plans are to clean and organize.
It's so cute how I never ever give up on the pipe dream to be organized.

And so far my tentative menu is:

1. Chicken fried rice (dinner tonight)
2. Quiche (lunch tomorrow)
3. The rest is a mysterious blur.

That's why I'd love to hear what you're gonna be making.

If your making something especially delicious,
I will show up at your house.

No, really...I will.

Alright now, get out that and enjoy your Friday, Friday!

Thank you for getting that ridiculously horrible song stuck in my head. haha.

Dinner tonight is hopefully Arroz con pollo. (Yellow rice and vegetables with chicken!) We're going to my in-laws for dinner and I'm crossing my fingers for that meal! The rest of the weekend? Not sure yet.. Let's take this one day at a time!

I'm making spaghetti & meatballs for dinner tonight. Tomorrow the girls are cheering at a basketball game & then we have a birthday party an hr away. We'll probably just grab a quick lunch. Some of the birthday guests are then going to a very fun & unique pizza place for dinner.

The kids are out of school until Thu, so we gave some playdates & sleepovers planned & a very fun ssshhhhh.... Disney day planned for Wednesday......

I need to do some major re organization in Little Miss's room......always a toss up whether it is more productive to do it when they are home or out of the house

I'm working this weekend and will eat whatever they serve in the hospital cafeteria! Ugh! Breakfast will be at mom and dad's and it's wherever they cook, same for supper! Then it's back to work all night and the cafeteria! I'm no help!

I just thought I'd chime in and say I'm planning to make Alton Brown's Pepper Pork Chops tomorrow. Here's the link :) http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/slow-cooker-pepper-pork-chops-recipe/index.html They are amazing! I add a little extra chicken broth so we can have more of the juice/ gravy to smother our mashed potatoes in.

Ha, ha, ha! You do have some chicken friends...hope they're all still kickin' it in the coop later tonight. ;-) Yesterday I put a roast in the crockpot and let it cook all day then shredded it and added BBQ sauce...hubby made sweet potato fries to go with our sandwiches. :) Tonight we had grilled chicken, brown rice, sauteed onions and red bells on the grill...yummers! :) Tomorrow morning we're having sausage and eggies in corn tortillas! :)

For supper (since it's over in this part of our country already) we had PIG (that's pork tenderloin for everyone else) corn (a fave of all) and RICE, of course.

You wouldn't want to come because there is never leftovers, they fight as to who gets the last little bit. It's a jungle here at mealtime. Not to mention the slurping, and open Chinese mouths that abound here.

Tomorrow I *guess* I should make warm fresh cinnamon rolls for the family but if I do that then I might not have any left for ME when I need rewarded for tolerating all of THEM.

And it's even worse, we JUST had Christmas break, I've hardly recovered from that and the kids have off school Monday and Friday next week.

Now IF I had my decorations still UP I would have something for the kids to do besides EAT, but NO, I put those away (like a good girl) 2 weeeks ago.

Well then. I'm feeling a shopping trip calling my name. Coupons and I are friends. (No I don't cook them, silly, unlike YOU who cooks her chicken friends??)

You scare me.Ha ha. Have a good one.

What are the weekend plans??!!?

um...PLAYOFFS!!!

Yes, life revolved around foot bal for it's season here. My doing, not my husbands. Last year, a play off game was on our anniversary. I told John, if we are going out to dinner, make it quick, make it early and make it close.

He did.

And meals? Tomorrow? Shrimp & fresh mozzarella pasta salad. Sunday? Probably grilled steak. I will make extra and put an extra setting.

I know I'm a little late in telling you my plans for the weekend. I too, have jumped on the decluttering wagon. It feels great to fling, fling, and fling some more. This afternoon I'm watching my 1 mo. old granddaughter, so I'm watching my "hoard" of Hoaders shows I've recorded. :)
Food: leftovers!!!!
