bye bye glasses!

Ok, the big surprise is that Macy got contact lenses!!!

Let me tell you,
she is SO STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!

She even let me take multiple pictures of her...
and she SMILED!!

From the very first photos we ever received of her when she was in China,
they were without her glasses...
then we noticed in many of the pics,
her glasses were in her hand, by her side.

And on Gotcha Day...
she walked into the room without them on.
Yet, she couldn't see a thing.
Her eyesight is really bad.

Anyway, we knew her confidence level was really low
because of them so once we knew for sure
she really wanted contacts,
we jumped on it.

Right when we got home from her eye appointment today,
she changed her Facebook profile pic!
Her old pic was not of her...but of Lucy.
Yeah, I'd say she needed a little boost to her confidence.

Anyway, we are all tickled for her!!

She had to work SO HARD at the eye doctor practicing
getting them in and out.
Bless those sweet almond-shaped eyes!
The doctor said she could come back another day
to try again if she was getting tired and
she said,
"No, I WILL get this!"

And she did.

It was a pretty special way to end the week.

Now she wants to go buy some funky new sunglasses!
Woo!

Absolutely darling!! I love her determination - it isn't easy to get them in your eye at first. What a sweet girl - I can see she is very happy with her new look and she should be. However, she was pretty stinkn' cute with glasses as well.

Good job Macy! Personally I liked the glasses, but that's just an old lady talking.
Just be sure to wash your hands carefully, I did not follow that advice and got an infection 2x and the eye doc advised me to go back to glasses...my bad.

Somehow I just knew that was what the big surprise was about, but didn't want to post it in my earlier comment for fear of bursting your bubble.

She is a beautiful girl, with or without glasses.

I got contacts when I was 15, and have never looked back--I love them! I still have a pair of glasses for nighttime reading after I take my contacts out, and for emergencies (i.e., a torn contact), but I wear my contacts almost exclusively. I saved up for my first pair--$300 for a pair of toric lenses back then. I love the idea of funky sunglasses, but Macy will have to wear mine--since I have kids who like to get ahold of them and wear them, I don't buy any pair that costs more than about $10 these days! I used to have really great, cool Oakleys--years ago!
