Gotcha Day!!

Woo Hoo!!
Our day finally arrived!
Our sweet girl simply couldn't be more adorable!

It's been a tad awkward at times but really,
she's easy to make laugh and seems to
understand much of what we say.
She even speaks a lot of English and when
I have tried explaining things to her,
she'll often say,
"yes, I know."
Such a teenager.
I'm sure she thinks I'm crazy for explaining
the simplist things to her.

Anyway, she's not near as shy as we
expected and that's been really nice.

She even grabbed my arm going to dinner
and held tight to me.
Oh my heart!

We went for Italian food for our first
meal together...go figure.
She actually seemed to like it but
didn't eat a whole lot.

I gotta go...
we are soooo tired!

Oh Lori! She is beautiful!! Praise Jesus, she is finally free!! She looks peaceful. Apparently she was pretty well prepared for your arrival. It's great that she knows some English. That is one of my biggest concerns with our girl is being able to communicate. God has blessed you, my friend, and I couldn't be more happy for you!

This may be a duplicate comment, but when I tried to post before, it went blank - so here goes again!

We are so happy for you, and when I read your post, I wept tears of joy! (especially at the part where Shu Li took your arm when you were walking!!)

May God bless your bonding now in China and continue once home. Whenever I think about you guys having Shu Li with you now, I just have to praise Jesus for this wonderful blessing.

Hugs from Indy,
Janet, Kevin, Ted, Philip, and waiting for Eli

I am barely awake (actually only one eye is sort of open!)....but I had to run to see if you had posted yet. Yippee Jesus! ShuLi is beautiful and she is with her forever family! We are thrilled!

PS The look on K-man's face?? Eyes wide open like, "HUH?" Almost looks like he saw in the fine print that in turn for ShuLi they are going to make him rewire all of Ch*na. Made me giggle.

"She even grabbed my arm going to dinner and held tight to me." And the tears erupted from my eyes! Glory be to God, from whom all blessings flow!!

We are studying John in our Bible study and we talked this morning about the important concept of belonging to Jesus. I teared up thinking about the importance of Shu Li now belonging to someone here on earth, and as huge as that is-- how much greater that she belongs to God! Thank you for sharing her with the rest of us. I wonder if she'll say "Yes I know" when you tell her she has blog stalkers? :)

Praise God!! I guess those late night prayers helped:-) How wonderful that she knows some english. Too funny about "yes I know". I don't have teenagers yet, but uh-oh I may be in trouble. She is precious. I love her glasses. She looks like she "fits" with you. Can't wait to hear more about her! BTW, what is her official name? Did you end up changing it? Congratulations!!!!

(i woke up at 2:40 this morning and wasn't sure why i was awake. i figured someone needed prayer but i didn't have that feeling of unease, it was a happy feeling and i figured it was probably intended to give God praise for building your family.)
