An Amazing Girl

Thankfully we all got a good night's
sleep last night!

I could sit here and write a book about
all that's happened since yesterday when
we first met our darling daughter.

I choke up with tears just writing this because Shu Li
is nothing short of a miracle from the Lord.
I am so thankful and in awe
that God chose us to be her parents.
His favor is on us and I'm am so very grateful.

She giggles and smiles easily...
she folds her dirty clothes...
 makes her bed...
and brushes her teeth without being told.
Just to name a few things.

Kiddos back home....heaven help you.

K-man is showing her the little electronic
translator we bought, but ummm...
she can read the sentences that we put in...
in English!!
Probaby a waste of money but who knew.

Also,
we asked her about her name.
We suggested Macy and she had a look of confusion
and said,
"I already have an English name...Katie."
So we asked her if that's the name she wants to keep
and she very confidentally said yes.

SO....
Katie Shu Li it is.

She just now put into her translator....
"I very much glad to become your daughter."

I'm a bucket of tears.
She is adorable.
Have I mentioned that??

Thank you, Jesus....THANK YOU!!!

Sorry I can't tell about each pic but the one
with the backpack and bag is what she came with.
I'm dying to know what's inside but she hasn't offered
to share so I will let her do that in her own time.

I think that peace sign will be with us for some time!

Oh Lori! She just seems so amazing! You are very lucky to have such a blessing! Her English sounds amazing! Especially considering it seems rare that the older kids know any English at all, and if they do, it's just a few words or sentences! Katie is blessed to have such a great family. She's going to love it with you guys. God bless you guys! I love seeing the pictures of her with you guys! She looks so skinny though.. But seems so happy! I hope you guys have another great day! God bless!

Oh...the peace sign....we had some Chinese students stay with us for a few weeks and they did the peace sign in every picture we took of them. When we asked them why, they shrugged and said that everyone in China does that. :)

What a blessing from the Lord. Katie is beautiful and looks like she is thrilled to have a forever mom and dad! Our sweet little girl also was showing the peace sign in her pictures. I just can't wait to put my arms around her. I love following your journey and am making notes and praying we are in China quickly. This wait is so tough. We are busily prepping our paperwork!!(oh my goodness there is a lot of it!!) But you are giving me hope and reminding me that it has a point. And a very precious point indeed. Two little girls waiting for their mom and dad. Thank you for sharing.

How great is our God that he places the right children into our homes. I tried to read your post to Lauren and my hubby and couldn't even talk I was so choked up. I think our next adoption after Gio of course may be a 13 year old girl!!!!

I have always thought her name should be Katie. I am so glad that she is able to keep something that she has already attached to and as far as the other Katie in your life you are going to have to look at this as God blessing you with your own Katie now!

He has great plans for this Katie of yours!!!

Lori- I;m so glad everything is going so smoothly for you! You will continue to be in my prayers.
