Dory who?

Yesterday morning before we did our devotions and Bible study,
I asked the boys if they had any prayer requests.....
as if they might possibly share with me
part of their mysterious lives.

Silly me.

Brenden said,
"Nope, we are hunky dory."
Pointing to Nick, he then said,
"He's hunky and I'm Dory."

Me,
wondering why in the world he would let Nick
carry the title of "hunky," said,
"YOU are Dory, and Nick is hunky?"

Brenden,
"Uhhhh....yes, Mom. All my friends say I'm just like Dory."

Me,
"Dory WHO?"

Brenden,
"Good grief, Mom. How many Dory's do you know??....
Dory from Nemo."

Okie dokie.

Actually, that makes complete sense to me.

We then dug into the deep subject of developing
a Christian worldview....just Hunky, Dory, and me.

Shortly after that, I got a June Cleaver-inspired moment
and decided to make a chicken-pot-pie for lunch
for my beloved children.

Delicious!!
My Recipe...in case you were wondering:

2-3 chicken breasts; cooked and cut into pieces
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 container of whipped cream cheese
1 large can of Veg-all veggies (I cut the veggies up into smaller pieces)

I prefer a real pie crust but this time I made a
Bisquick topping (1 cup mix, 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk).

Pour into large pie pan, cover with crust,
then bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.

Wow- you just whipped up a chicken pot pie- holy buckets I have a long way to go. I've never done anything like that- I need to attend the Lori school of cooking!

Sounds like a fun day at school with Hunky, Dory and Lucy!

Poor Shui-Li....what is she coming home to????? I'm only kidding, your boys sound like such a pair of fun guys.

Envious of your lunch time skills. Makes the plate of ham, crackers, cheese & grapes that I put out for my kids look totally lame....=)

You crack me up with your delicious-looking creations. You inspire me to cook something besides mac and cheese and those ever-present zucchinis!

Chicken pot pie for lunch?! You are killing me. Homeschooling those boys and still having time to make a yummy lunch. My poor kids got mac n cheese:-)

Love Hunky Dory:-) Poor Shu Li....she doesn't know what she's in for:-) I bet your boys will have her at ease in no time. I see them being very protective of her (and Lucy).

Complete school day AND homemade lunch?! You're putting me to shame!! We had leftover hotdogs--I didn't even fix them the 1st time, they were leftover from a church cookout.
I DOOOO, however, make a complete dinner from scratch every night=)
Let me clarify--scratch means some may come from cans or freezer, but no pre-made freezer meals. I even make my own salsbury steak.

Love that story. And I have a feeling I would love that chicken pot pie even more! Perhaps you should send that picture to the CCAA? Surely they would send your TA tomorrow if they knew that was waiting for Shui- Li at home!!
