my new obsessions

I have a new obsession.
Two, actually.

One is,
glass jars.

I am putting everything I can think of in them.
If I had the money,
everything I own would be in a glass jar.

Take a look...

Glass jars make me so happy.

I have no idea why.

But they do.

My other newest obsession is Pinterest.
Do you know about this?

My friend Kristy told me about it.
I checked it out just nonchalantly and was wowed.

And when I signed up as a member (or whatever they're called),
I saw that I have several friends already on there.
Why didn't you people tell me about this earlier?

I am obsessed.

Here are a few things I've found....

I showed this to Brenden and asked him if he wanted
me to knit him up one of these.

He said,
"Yes, yes, and heck yes."

Love this so much.

And I love this too.
Even though I never drink champagne...
and rarely dance on tables.
Rarely.

Anyway, I have "pinned" many recipes
and ideas.

It is life-changing.

And I am so happy to have found it.

I will report to you more of my findings as I see fit to do so.

  6. Ohhhh - be still my heart - I too have the same obsession - I have a box of lovely glass jars of many shapes and sizes - and why - I have no idea. It sorta started last year and has really taken over this current garage sale year. They do not have to have lids - a necessary part in my quest last year. So I have lowered my standards in what I find lovely.

My latest find is a "catch cup" from a 1910 coffee grinder. I thought "how cute" this little glass has ounce markings, how odd". Then I came home and researched the markings on the bottom and learned that it is a rare piece because people would break them and not want to pay the 15 cents to replace them. And I have one, in perfect condition - which makes me somewhat disappointed because I was going to use or display it. Now I must wrap it up carefully and store it away - or at least I think I must.

As for Pinterest - I was going to send you a invitation but hadn't gotten around to it yet. It is addictive - to be sure! But it saves space in the house for all the magazine clippings and such that I would be clipping - so I guess it is actually a time saver?

We should so get together and talk glass jars - who knew that we shared this love for glass receptacles?

  10. Love your jars... I have several that I used to have out at one of our other houses that you would love. I might have to find them and bring that that way when I come home to visit in the fall!

  11. I love your quote as well. Isn't that beautiful and oh so true. The gospel of Jesus Christ really does bring happiness and joy. And that BEARD--fantastic. You must knit it.

  12. okay I am so ignoring the pinterest thing as I have heard so many other people talking about it and I pretty much have my hands full right now and do not need any more distractions. (ahem!) However, I showed my almost 17 yr old the hat beard knitted thingy and he LOVED it. I don't knit. or Knot. Or Knat. Whatever. Any idea where I could BUY him one? that is way too funny! :) I thought it was MY computer...said your blog no longer existed. I was like "stupid computer" and well, it didn't exist temporarily! Thanks for the warning. Save the $10. Keep blogspot! :)
    Blessings, Holly
